This was flawless - And what would Catholic Stephen add to this performance or any other? Stephen's contribution to this piece would be belittling and pointless

Watched and listened to Jon on NPR's "Live from Here," last week and he got a standing ovation after every song - +4! He's woke and a genius and compared to Chris Thiely and a young pianist (a New Yorker article has a word for this) as able to obsorb any and all types styles rhythms instruments etc - rare extraordinary talent indeed.

partypiano0 I’m guessing the idea came from using Chopin’s Funeral March. Yo Yo Ma does the same in his version. Brilliant

Wannabe Wallaby I think the intro is like Chopin's nocturne in c# minor! Jon Batiste has another song on his album (Chopinesque) that uses pieces of it - it's beautiful

He seems to be a big fan of Chopin. Several times when a guest has come on stage or during an improv section of a performance, he's pulled out part of a Chopin nocturne or a waltz. I don't remember the exact pieces off the top of my head, but I do remember recognizing them!
