Thats my wonder. How can a God. Not just any God. But the alfa and the omega. He loves me this i know. I feel it comfort me when iy down. Today i closer than iv e ever been. Im wondetinf how many ti.mes I've been in this place. Filled with empty space huh. What? Ur soft a nd tender love will always shine for me. Stop. Calm. Breathe. Dont look around. Stop. Im. Not here to pursue happiness. You cant chase happiness. It come from right thinking. But who controls the narrative for the meaning. Life liberity? Whos life. Who's liberty. Scared old white hearts. Funny how white equates to purity. Whoye mans purity is only sought out to exploit. Dom.inate steal withput guilt that a lovnig wouldnt tolerate. Could you lie to your mother? Shed snatch you bald if you started a bull shit lie. God is my father yet he knows Im deceiving

Right?! I am so glad that this collaboration was able to boost Jon Batiste's exposure! He's incredibly talented, skilled, and accomplished! This album is generating some very well-deserved buzz, I just hope he doesn't leave the show--I gotta have my nightly Batiste to Stay Human!
“I want people to have a meditation that is not full of despair, but hope..” - Jon Batiste That is so beautiful, Man. May You Be Forever Blessed ✨🙏✨👏🏾👏🏾💜🌈✨
That was... Amazing. Points to the director who knew when to reveal other band members.
Jon Batiste, IS an American Treasure!

Thank you Mr. Batiste. Beautiful
Great musician, great performance, and John Baptiste is delightfully eccentric, thoughtful, and highly intelligent. It's nice to see how proud Steven is to present him as well.
Of all the musical performances I've seen now on Colbert's Late Show, this was the best of them all. I knew Jon was talented, seeing him every night you get a sense of it - but I'd never actually heard his original work. Bravo is all I can say. That touched me.
God I love this...I could feel my blood pressure lowering as I relaxed.
An extraordinarily beautiful song - from one of the most extraordinarily wonderful artists and activists alive. Thank you, Jon. Thank you. Don't stop.
Bloody hell, that was GOOD! Jon, you are a beautiful artist and a beautiful being. Thank you for this album 🙏
"Let's soak up the day, and dance the night away. So with all that you've got, don't stop. So with all that you've got, don't stop..." Brilliant. Soothing. Beautiful. For the mind and the soul. Thank you, Jon. You're amazing.
Absolutely beauftiful... That's what music is supposed to be about - art, not pure entertainment. I got some strong Nina Simone and Tom Waits vibes from that performance.

Out of the freaking park, absolutely incredible. Beautiful, truly.
Oh he needs to play the Royal Albert Hall in London asap!!
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert I usually watch clips of the show on the KZread app for my PlayStation 3, which doesn't let me comment on videos. Ten seconds into the song, and I feel the music is so powerful that I had to pause it, open the app on my phone, then restart the song... I want to be able to close my eyes and listen, then share my first thoughts upon finishing the song. That says a lot about the work, in and of itself... I rarely *ever* comment on KZread videos unless they are posted by friends. ... Damn, son. Just... Damn. 'Hope' is a great word for this song. Moody, soulful, yearning.... and yet uplifting. If you translated the horn of Herbie Hancock to piano, and added the voice of Louis Armstrong, you might get the kick this song hives the listener. My feels are gonna have a bruise for a few days at least, Batiste, pun intended. You are one magnificent son of a gun, and I'll be buying that album for sure. ***edited for spelling/grammar

You should watch this stuff on a big HD TV with proper speakers (not a soundbar!). If you don't have a Smart TV get a ChromeCast, and pair it with your phone, then you can watch on the TV and comment via the phone. I use an old laptop paired to a ChromeCast, so I have a proper keyboard.

Nathan Talisien I like how you expressed yourself and I agree for the most part! I was tickled when you made a point of saying it was edited for spelling errors and grammar! I’ve done the same or where I left out words 😁 but I never bothered to say that was why I edited. I guess I feel like we shouldn’t need to explain why editing was necessary. I remember the first time I read where someone actually through an insult because of editing!! I was like; “WHAT “. One of the silliest and lamest things to complain about! Peace ✌️
Beautiful music from a truly pure, untainted soul.
Jon Batiste and T Bone Burnett! Can't wait to hear this album!

The song, and the man, both sublimely beautiful. I could easily (probably have already) fall in love with Jon Batiste. Jon Batiste is more evolved than most mere mortals. It's in his "sguardo". (Italian word)
Beautiful song. I hear some Nina Simone. Also, great album cover. He looks so handsome.

Wow! Wanted to tell Jon "Don't stop" playing. Thank god for the replay button. This is beautiful. "We will dance the night away... Don't stop..." In these times this is such a beautiful message so beautifully presented. I am soothed. And these days that is so very difficult a state to achieve.
Every time I’ listened to this song, for the past few months since it was released, I get such a range of emotions! Elation, tears and sadness, longing and melancholy, hope, happiness; I mean everything!
It’s only been 5 minutes. But he made me imagine a whole movie. Beautiful. Cinematic.
Every two decades or so we are rewarded with a memorable composition destined to become a classic. ‘Don’t stop’ is one such and Jon Batiste performs it superbly.
This song saved my life. Now, I know why: Pure holiness. Jon Batiste is a prophet of joy and everything that is love. He truly understands the human soul, and toll that the challenges that this life weigh. Thank you, for being a teacher and a healer. God bless you, on your very important and gigantic mission of saving souls! 🙏🏻
He is a musical genius. Gave me chills.💗
I just love the brotherhood between Stephen and Jon. Always so supportive!!
This was years ago. Did he know his sweet wife was fighting cancer when he sang this? Either way, it speaks to the man he is. A hero to the brokenhearted, a legend to us all.
Thank you so much for warmin' up all our hearts. U da man! Cheers!
Listened to an interview with him on Fresh Air. He’s kind of my new favorite person ❤️
They need to get this guy on the show more often.. oh wait 😙 😏
Simple powerful message. Its just what I needed to hear in these uncertain times. Just beautiful!
I really needed that. Going to watch again now.
Wow, Jon. This hit me right in the heart. Well played, sir. Well played. Amazing.
Beautiful song. It just pulls you right in.
Hats off to Colbert for recognizing and promoting Batiste's immense talents. More Batiste Please!
I heard the song when it was released and I fell in love with song, the music , the voice immediately. Jon is truly treasure. A wonderful, beautiful performance ❤️❤️
Amazing! Such a beautiful song. In some parts the piano reminds me of moonlight sonata...
Wow a song with a meaning. I truly loved it.
yaaaaaaaaaaaasssssss!!!!! "I want ppl to have a meditation that doesn't result in despair..." of Hollywood Africans, by Jon Batiste
The “Moonlight Somata” influence is strong with this one - I can see someone taking this a step further with a dubstep version. Thank you Jon for re-inspiring my interest in music!!

So good to see Jon getting more personal air time on the show, it’s beautiful and “Don’t Stop”, we want to see and hear more and more of you. I need to hear your gifted, make my heart swell and my eyes tear up, smooth sounds. You take me to another time, place and past artists when you sing. There are “so many voices” in your talented voice and music in every song you perform. It’s always a soothing, moving and soulful experience. Thank you for sharing and caring. We love you Jon 💕and need you to keep bringing us the serenity along with Steven’s winning humor. Great teamwork y’all❣️❣️❣️

You are a saint, Jon. Don't ever stop.
A beautiful opus, a great musician go Jon! And a nice partnership of Jon and Stephen!

"don't pause, press play. Don't stop" haha, got me, Jon. Very simple but pointed lyrics. I love it. Really took me out of my world while listening.

Absolutely spectacular and beautiful!!! Ludwig Beethoven would be proud and honoured!!!

Jon Batiste is a great artist...Jon has immense musical understanding..I love his mantra that people should have a mediation that doesn't result in despair but hope..Jon Batiste is also an excellent pianist..and of course Jon has a lovely personality...and so he resonates with musicians all over the world..
Oh my God that was beautiful, thank you John for that song and please don't stop!
Some butthurt comments about "Oh he totally ripped off Moonlight Sonata". It's clearly inspired by it, but it is an original work. It doesn't detract from the fact this is a superb piece of music that was expertly and professionally performed. Also, keep in mind, this is just a single from his entire album. We don't know what the rest of it sounds like. It could be completely original. It's possible he selected this as a single, precisely because Moonlight Sonata is so well known. It is a strong debut, that makes me want to purchase the album. Kudos to you, Jon, and I hope it becomes very successful. If even 5% of the almost 5 million subscribers to this KZread channel buy it, he would be doing pretty good.
Touched by the Grace of God ! A real jewel ! Paramount talent with indeniable human qualities ! Tx for this great moment of music and emotions ! Greetings from Belgium !
The ode to moonlight piano sonata...brilliant.
This specific song makes me mourn, and rise up. And it does so many things .... and I simply love this man.
Beautiful song. Amazing talent, Jon Batiste!
