To me, this was actually sadder than the original ending.

I'm not going to lie I actually cried in this scene.

In the “Under the Red Hood” film Jason wondered if he really mattered to Bruce and here he see Bruce give his Life to save him and try and keep him from losing his soul, finally confirming to him that Bruce did care for Jason at the expense of his own Life. That gets me.

"Son"...this scene was heartbreaking. Why can't Jason take a break? First, he gets beaten and now he is gonna blame himself

God imagine how Alfred will feel. He has to bury the whole Wayne family.

Joker quits being Joker after this it’s just not the same anymore

It’s very powerful how Batman was so devoted to his no kill rule. He died by Joker’s actions and still wanted Jason to spare him.

“I want that for you...because I love you, son.” God. How I’ve longed to hear those words from Bruce canonically so much, and yet this scene also broke me

I wouldn’t mind seeing a full feature film dedicated to this plot line. This choose your own adventure is a good start but this concept in particular really intrigues me

when he called him son you knew shit was gonna get real

I love how Batman’s last words were like:”Jason....promise me you won’t do that ol’ bullshit son.”

Jason when Batman gets to him: Can’t stand, can barely talk

Batman called jason son I've never heard batman referred to any of the other the robins besides damian as his son

Damian: “Remember, Justice... not vengeance...”

This joker voice actor is seriously understated he’s probably my second favourite with the first being obvious. I mean the way he says “hello” when he leaves is just chilling

This to me explained why Bruce took Jason in after Dick left. He wanted Jason to not end up like the criminals and wanted him to be healed (mentally and emotionally). He wanted a good life (well one that he can give him) for Jason.
