That’s the irony, he understands and anticipates every move these people (Within the law) will do cuz “it’s all part of the plan”. He flips that and uses it to turn the city upside down. Total Maniac and Heath did a fantastic job here.

Yeah, that was a nice little nuance they put in. A similar concept is in the movie 'the American's with George Clooney. He plays a sort of skilled but washed out and downward spiralling assassin and gunsmith. At the beginning of the movie he is attacked by assassins and kills them but in the process he fears that his secret life is exposed to his girlfriend whom he then kills and flees. He goes to Italy and gets another assignment from his handler. It's simply to build a gun for another assassin. He starts making connections with people and falls in love with a hooker who returns his feelings. He completes the gun and delivers it and plans on retiring and leaving the assassin life with the new woman. But he then fears that the gun he was building was 'for him'. And it was. But he had sabotaged it and it injures the assassin hired to retire him. But his handler shows up to finish the job. He's able to kill his handler and flee to go meet with the woman. On his way there, there's a moment when he realizes that he was actually shot in the fight with his old boss and is going to die. There's such a moment of disappointment, not that he's going to die. He knew that he would likely die in this trade, but that he came so close to winning only to still die in the end. It's a really well done scene. I got to say that while I'm not really a huge Clooney fan, he's been in some really good movies. This one and Michael clayton are both really good. I think mostly because he plays very quiet charachters in both movies and the story depends more on plot and non verbal acting from him.

To think, if Bruce wasn't in so frantic of a mood and blinded by emotion, he might - though very unlikely - have predicted the Joker would have tried something devious, or went to Dent's location knowing that is what Rachel would have wanted even if it means she would die.

It's a brilliant scene, but the Joker wins a little too much. He makes Batman and everyone else look dumb and weak throughout the whole movie. Which is great for the actor and makes people think even more of him, but is actually bad for the audience and the filmmakers, because Batman is supposed to be the hero, and Batman is the one whose name is on this movie and the next ones, and the toys and games etc, so the whole machine is designed for Batman to be the one who is dominant and most liked. They did end up making a Joker movie though, but when the character is villainous, it's hard to make things work.

It was intentional because what the Joker said to Batman before he gave him the addresses was that "I thought you were Harvey Dent, the way you threw yourself after her" meaning he was gonna switch those addresses to manipulate batman even more. It's similar to his "I want my phone call" scene as well.

Yep precisely, Rachel would rather be the sacrifical lamb than have Harvey be blown to kingdom come. Not just happiness but also relief, knowing that it was Bruce/Batman who came to save him. Harvey mattered more to the people than her, due to his high campaigning to wipe the cities clean of criminal activities. But what's more depressing was that before her death, Rachel never realized that Harvey would take the loss very badly and become a psychotic vigilante, to take it out on those he felt were responsible for her death. I'm sure that Rachel would never want to see that happen at all. But as the Joker said during his conversation with Harvey in the hospital, it was all "part of the plan". Things only got worse as the story progressed... ending with the demise of Harvey "Two-Face" and Batman voluntarily covering up for his crimes, to keep Harvey's "white knight reputation" intact for the next 8 years.

@@JunkFoodBoobooEndgame was more of a culmination of a decade of movies. It was pretty good, but the main reason it gets hyped is that that brought back EVERY actor who played a hero in the entire MCU since Iron Man. Infinity War was a better movie (not just for the shocking ending). The Batman was pretty good as well, but I don’t think it was ever supposed to reach the heights that Dark Knight did. The Dark Knight, as well, was a good movie, but became even more hyped in the wake of Heath Ledger’s passing. I’d like to think it still would have gotten good reviews, but probably not quite to the extent that it did because of that.

Rachel actually thought that Harvey rejected her saying "Yes"... BUT he later said "No, not me! Why are you coming for me??" which referred to Batman showing up to save him. It was what Rachel would've wanted, to have Harvey survive, so she can die in peace. However, she never realized a few things... 1) Harvey was disfigured even though he was saved, 2) he went insane and took her death very hard, then went on a murdering spree as Two-Face, 3) Alfred would burn her letter to spare Bruce further pain, and 4) Batman would tell Gordon to hold him responsible for Harvey's appalling crimes and also be wanted for the apparent murder of Harvey, so as to preserve his heroic image.

The Joker tested Batman already at the party by dropping Rachel of the roof to see his reaction and if Rachel was his weak point. Having the confirmation of this, he intentionally mixed up both adresses knowing that Batman would make in time to save one of them and not Gordon, only it was Dent instead of Rachel, Rachel died and Joker succeeded as our Hero got hit straight in the heart. One last note, the adress is 250 52th Street. It's a palindrome and also it's spelled "two/fifty/fifty/two. For 2 choices, fifthy fifty percent. And for the last irony, Harvey Dent became Two Face after that. I figured this out after like 12 years. It shows how high and insane Christopher Nolan I.Q really is.

I found Harvey Dent getting his face caught on fire after Batman pulls him out of an exploding building to be a lot more brutal in the Dark Knight than the classic getting acid thrown in the court room moment from the comics, this was very powerful and sad at the same time, it did an excellent job in setting him up to become Two-Face. I would put Aaron Eckhardt's performance up there with Christian Bale, Gary Oldman and Heath Ledger, he absolutely delivered big time.

Heath was great as the Joker, but his fanboys tend to go overboard with their praises. Also, even if he only appeared in a post-credit scene and in a deleted scene, Barry Keoghan showed immense potential in his short screentime. While watching him, I got the same tingles I got while watching Heath Ledger for the first time as Joker (in particular the scene where he confront the Gotham mob families), and Cameron Monaghan dropping the mask in front of Jim Gordon in *Gotham* ...

Fun fact: The glass shard that Joker is pressing against that cop’s neck was due to Batman smashing his face against the 1-way glass, further proving that Joker was manipulating Batman, and that when Batman gets pissed, he gets sloppy.
