A huge theme for Twenty Øne Piløts is the seemingly endless cycle of failure, sin, mental health, etc etc. So Nico and Niners are also known as Blurryface and the Bishops. In these stories that you’ve been watching Tyler is trying to break free from the bishops and their false religion. Trying to leave the darkness into the light, or leave the life of addiction or poor mental health, to a life of freedom and flourishing. Everytime Tyler gets out, he gets caught and dragged back to the city. So just as we often have seasons in our life when things get better, and we have victories… we also fall back into old ways… we Backslide. Continue on with the videos to continue the stories. Chlorine or the Hype should be one of the next ones.

The city Dema (the location of Nico and the Niners) represents a place of depression mentally, the 9 bishops represent certain insecurities, Nico, aka Blurryface, is the leader. Every citizen of Dema gets a bishop assigned to him, Nico is Tyler's. Trench is the Continent outside of Dema, the only ways to get there is through an underground passage that the Banditos built (what you see at the end of Nico and the Niners) and the location of Jumpsuit, East of Dema and up the cliff, hence, East is Up. The Banditos are those who escaped Dema and live in Trench.

Glad you enjoyed this one so much, it's a lot of fun to sing along to when you know all the words. the line at the end 'welcome to Trench' is referenced in the intro to Overcompensate when tyler says 'Welcome back to trench' i love the line 'by track 2 at least they all know all they hear comes from a place' as this is the second track on the album and is referencing how these songs are all in some way related to the story of Trench and the world tyler created (he taps his head when he delivers this line). this song comes directly after jumpsuit on the album and the songs mix together so well that you don't even hear the transition to levitate at first.

the banditos are the people in the yellow - they are there to help encourage people to escape Dema - they put the yellow tape on to help encourage you can see at the beginning of the video how confident Tyler is since he has just escaped Dema, then as the song goes on you can see he starts to doubt himself, he starts to doubt his musical capabilities in the lyrics his insecurities creep in so much that Nico comes back for him and drags him back to Dema and this is the last of the Trench album, so when their album after that picks up (Scaled and Icy) - Tyler is trapped in Dema and being completely controlled by the bishops (hooded figures/Nico and the Niners) Saturday would be the next song in the series of videos

I did Shy Away next cuz it was in the "The Story" playlist but now since then I have finished Saturday and The Outside and realized that shy away the performance video at least isn't part. I must say that if I’m understanding you correctly here, when your saying that you have basically zero knowledge of the lore and are kinda just winging it as far as your interpretation of these videos and such……then props man, cause holy shit my dude your doing some freaking work here! Perception skills are on point! Not sure if you picked it up but these videos represent a cycle. The cycle of mental health & depression etc. if you go back to Nico & the miners when he puts the flower in the box it already contains a number of flowers, shows this has occurred over & over. There is a series of behind the scenes for these videos that are interesting but also amusing… you get to learn a little about the boys character & friendship as well as about shooting the vids.
