“Anime trying to get out of anime.” “I just want to be hired.” Lol, so many of us can relate to at least one of these.

I feel that if your "Anime" is really, really well done, you can get out and in easily. Takes a lot of anatomy understanding though. So there's hope, you can have your cake and eat it.

Her drawings are so clean it’s ridiculous. Those are drawings of a confident artist even though she talks like she’s not. I especially like her shading and understanding of light source.

The movement in the cartoony characters and the anatomy with the more realistic body structures is amazing! Sketch book like these inspire me to draw

I think Joie is too concerned about random strangers and relatives and what they say about her art. For some people, you either draw in a newspaper comic style, Disney, or anime. Even though she has her own unique, cartoonish style, it's sadly the type of style our aunts and uncles would look at and go "is that a anime?" Joie, if you're reading this, your art doesn't look like the anime style at all (not that anime is bad, but it doesn't fit into what would categorize something as anime art). Of course, if you aren't happy with your style, mold it to something that works better for you. But otherwise, your art looks great and you don't need to worry about that.

It's sad how ppl think cartoony is an acceptable form of art but anime is not..... Both aren't realistic but both are still art

There's such a great variety of mediums, styles, shapes and colors, it just never gets dull! Love the small characters as title pages of sections and the quick gesture shading in watercolor pencils is stunning. My idea flow is never this clean or organized so thanks for a new awesome reference!

It wasn't a vocaloid character. They are from the music videos "Nonsense literature/ナンセンス文学" and "Dramaturgy/ドラマツルギー" by Eve. The artist is Mah, you can find them on twitter as @/mah_hirano. Their work is incredible, definitely check them out! The only relation they have to vocaloid is that Eve originally used Hatsune Miku's (I believe? not sure) voice for nonsense bungaku, before he reuploaded with his own voice. :D
