I wonder if Elliot writes his own parts these days. It's obvious that John wrote script for both their parts in the early days, but that's when Elliot was only like 15 and his reads were pretty mumbled. But now that he's matured, his delivery is very solid and he has more gaming and writing experience. I'd like to see a review composed entire by Elliot now that he's an adult. Just for the sake of contrasting him against himself six years ago.

Gotta say, nowadays I look forward to any fnaf related review for the sake of having of Elliot around. As small as it is, it makes me feel all soft and nostalgic inside seeing e'm together again.

Wow, so many passive aggressive ways of people trying to smack this game or the series in the comment section. I don't like the games personally, but I see no real reason to complain about them so harshly for several reasons. 1: These games aren't really affecting other video games. There's been no copycat games based on the FNAF series or it hasn't affected the horror genre in anyway so I just see it as its own harmless little series. 2: Sure, you see this game everywhere, but, um, let me introduce you to a novel concept. IT'S CALLED "DON'T CLICK ON THE VIDEOS". I know people complain about it being click bait for lets players or for game theory stuff, but let's be honest, clickbait stuff is everywhere. If this game wasn't out, those exact people would just find another game. 3: Even if you claim the games aren't scary, horror is subjective you knuckleheads. There's plenty of games and movies people call horrifying but I don't go around complaining "IT'S NOT SCARY". Yeah, like I said, I'm not a fan but I'll admit, the animatronic at least for me personally land a very difficult to accomplish uncanny valley aesthetic that just bothers me. Not even like a close to human but exactly, but a "close enough to looking realistic but off enough to freak the brain out". It's an effect very old 3d pixar style animations had when they actually tried to look more realistic. 4: Yeah, the game relies on jumpscares, but even I'll admit it's one of the few horror games that DOES rely on jumpscares to do it RIGHT (well, other than the third entry that just had them occur randomly). Watch the youtube video by "Now you see it" called "Why Jumpscares Suck". It's a video that defends jumpscares as an important tool when done right that just gets a bad rep. I think this game uses it in that way. They're used because it allows the rest of the game to be nerve wrecking. A good jumpscare is all about buildup, and since the entire games ARE buildup, I think it's actually well done. So like, seriously, chill out people. I personally think it's kinda cool to see something like FNAF emerge. Like, whenever my parents tell me about what being alive during the release of the original Star Wars movies was like, I kinda think, "wow, I can't even imagine it.". And while FNAF at least to me is no Star Wars (quality and cultural impact), I still think its an interesting phenomenon to witness. Like, the type of thing I'd tell my kids when I'm talking about things that happened "back in my day". I dunno. Maybe. But it certainly is interesting at least for me to witness even though I don't like the games personally and I see no reason to ruin the fun for the people that do like them. Cause again, the series isn't affecting other games in the industry so... why complain? Just don't fucking play the games you dinguses.

I can not lie I would say this is the most laughs I have gotten from you two working off of each other ever. Don't know if it is the writing or what but it just worked so much better.

excellent and entertaining review, as usual. Elliot has become great at doing reviews. its been interesting to see his growth in communicating- same with Johnny. the wolf mask was hilarious. also, i learned early in life to never ever trust a person who says "no jump scares".

Honestly, this game was my favourite, and what convinced me to play FNAF, as well as buy merch lmao. I'm big on stories in games, and the other FNAF games had like 0 story if you didn't dive in to the lore. I felt like Sister Location had enough to get me hooked and I was like "okay. now i gotta play the others" lol.

The banter between you two is hilarious. Love your work, keep it up!

Although I've burned out so much on how many games there are & the amount of videos there are on the internet of the series, I can still appreciate that at least for the fans of the series the quality of Sister Location hasn't dropped & is still enjoyable. That aside, I gotta compliment that Elliot is really growing into a great speaker/narrator (for lack of a better word) when involved in these reviews. Professional, clear & on beat to Johnny's delivery. Kudos to you dude & keep it up!

Jumpscares are the low hanging fruit of comedy. Everyone can make them and everyone knows about them. Resorting to them is a great way to show off one's triteness. But at least he kind of warned me for it. Even though it was meant to misdirect, with such a worn out joke it gets predictable.

you know, good on you for being sneaky enough to foreshadow something in your video so cleverly, it honestly was really well hidden, but it being an outright lie about a jumpscare really isn't the best. this is not just some harmless prank - having a jumpscare after being explicitly being told not to (yes, i know, left hand, still a lie) can cause some legitimate harm to unsuspecting people, especially when mental illness is involved, and it's something you need to come to ready and willing. please don't do this again…

I think John was going off of Halloween pranks that typically involve jumpscares. That's the thing with Halloween, not everything is comfortable and is catered for people who are medically affected by it, either do to decorations and media with blood, common phobias (of spiders, clowns, etc), or just the very concept of horror. It's just something you have to adjust to because Halloween is pretty universal, especially on the internet. Not everyone enjoys that, and that sucks, I feel bad for them, but it's such a staple to where it's not going away and you're not entirely safe. I find John's prank clever, a lot of people do. If someone suffered traumatic harm from this, my heart goes out to them, but you can't please everyone. Not everyone laughs at the same joke, which is fine, and not everyone is affected by the same joke, which is fine.

light savior i understand that, for sure, and im not suggesting a complete ban of jumpscares and things like that. it has its place and its good that its around for the people who like it. but dont you think its fair that the people who dont, know where to find it so they can avoid it ? scary things are outright advertised as scary things, fnaf or silent hill or what have you, and people who dont like it arent mislead into getting into it without being able to handle it. in this case, people were, especially longer time followers, because hes made the same promise before and made good on it. and i know that its a halloween thing to just scare everyone, but if its a tradition that can cause all sorts of harm, physical and mental and what have you, dont you think its a tradition that should be changed, or at least adapted ? i dont see why simply accepting something hurtful is the best way to go about it, especially when its a simple solution of "put a warning, like movies, games, books and all forms of media already do" that suffices …also, im pretty sure halloween the way you guys do it is… just you guys im from brazil, and the way we celebrate its way safer and more respectful

Nilly Bupkiss The thing about Johnny is that he's a man who likes to prance around. He plays with fan reactions all the time, always reaching for some shock value, subtle or not, for laughs, like in the Undertale review where he added that demonic scene at the very end, or when he literally tossed Mother 3 to the side in his Earthbound review like it was today's newspaper. You should always expect the unexpected with Johnny, and even then, it's a FNaF video, so you should always expect a jumpscare, regardless. I don't think it's unfair; just a friendly prank at most, ignorance at its worst. And I'm making Halloween (in America) sound more terrible than it really is. I mean, Halloween is the time for horror, but it's also the time of dressing up, hanging with friends, digesting candy, and less extreme lighthearted spooks. I don't know if you watch Johnny's let's play channel, SGB, but the phrase during the Luigi's Mansion let's play, "we're also playing this to remind you all that Halloween is a fun time of year" sums my thoughts of the time perfectly up. The intent is never really to harm, it's to scare and produce reactions we can all laugh at in retrospect. The stereotypically scary things like spiders and whatnot "hurting" people is something out of the reach of others because those reactions aren't the norm. Like, it's the minority of the minority of reactions. Again, can't please everybody, and that's the mindset for why it wont change. Spiders and clowns, vampires and mummies, jumpscares and (lighthearted) pranks are symbols of Halloween. It'd be like Christmas without Santa or Frosty the Snowman or family dinner. True, you can celebrate Christmas without those, but there'd be something missing, I'd find. Something that makes it less of a celebrated holiday and more a time of year, if that makes sense. (Not to say I'm against some behavior, like tricking people by throwing eggs at peoples houses. That can fuck off.) Also curious how people in Brazil celebrate Halloween now that you bring it up.

Horror to me, is when my sanity is lowered. That depends on different people. Honestly the only fiction that actually got my sanity lowered is the anime Madoka Magica and that was not a "Horror" Anime. Because I actually began to question life. I know its fiction but to think what I have to do if I was in the world made me depressed. FNAF I feel actually used Jumpscares very well considering how the whole point of the game is to avoid them. Is jumpscares scary, again depends on the person.

Spencer Fleming True, I mean, if he didn't these wouldn't exist, but I think the demand plays a factor to the STRESS of it all. You have MILLIONS of people, ranting and raving, screaming for the next installment, analyzing EVERY SINGLE detail in order to make it all mesh and flow together. All the while having a FAMILY to take of and an actual JOB to balence, you know, have a life other then Fnaf...? I truly respect Scott for what he's done, six games in two years, a raving fanbase and a movie in the works. But this is still, a man we're talking about. He needs rest, the poor guy.

welp good thing he canceled Fnaf 6(or what ever you want too call it) I love the fnaf games(expect 3) but he deserves a rest and he getting it now

If Scott made a game with movement, story, and that it lasted at least 3 hours i would probably buy it, but the fact that he made 6 games in 2 years (More if you count his mobile games) just proves to me they're half assed and not much thought is put into them. This is what turns me off about them.

HerosHelper I don't fancy buying 60 dollar games, nor half assed games. I always read various reviews before buying games, and even when i do buy them they're usually 30 dollars at best. In fact, i think the most expensive game i have bought this year was Shovel Knight, which is 15 dollars.

Johnny I find it hilarious that you released your review of FNAF Sister Location around the time your friend Jirard released his Completionist episode on the game. also hoping for another donators marathon after the portable Sonic marathon & some individual reviews.

Wow it’s really been 4 years since this game was released. I remember my friend talking about it in elementary school, I’m in high school now.

Honestly, Sister Location is the only FNAF sequel I don't dislike. 2, 3 and 4 were just bad to me. I appreciate that shit was actually added to it, even if it's not that great.

I sometimes sleep while listening to some music on KZread, but I guess I tapped this cause the second I woke up I heard "looks like I've hid you well."

*siiiiiiiigh* Johnny, I'll tell you why FNAF has a minimal story and just implies everything. It's because Scott Cawthon can't write, so he tricks the rabid 14 year olds that make up the FNAF fanbase into thinking the series has "deeper meaning" through deception and cliche. Nothing is outright stated, because if its was, then people would catch on to just how shallow these games really are. If you fool your audience good enough, you can get them to believe whatever you want. These games are not "horror", they are jumpscare simulators, and nothing more. Horror is not about the payoff, or the climax of tension. True horror is nothing but tension without payoff. Making the viewer feel as uncomfortable as possible, makign them fear the unknown and the unexplainable, praying on our fear by subverting our perceptions. THAT is horror. You want a true horror experience, play a game called ANATOMY. That is what true horror is like. No cheap jumpscares, no trickery, no fooling the player into thinking it has deeper meaning, and it has proper payoff. It's very uncomfortable and yet it is so simple, proof positive that "less is more" unlike FNAF where sequel after sequel has reduced it to a joke.

I found Mafia 3 to be unsettling. I know it's not a horror game. But, Its setting, atmosphere makes fear the city of New Bordeaux.

Well whilst you're mentioning it, I hear Corpse Party is a pretty underrated horror-styled game for the PSP that, whilst not outright horrifying, manages to keep you on edge throughout most of the game, which is more than what most horror games/movies can say for themselves nowadays!

Im not a big fan of FNAF, however what makes it work as a horror is because of the fact you are avoiding the jumpscares its not like they are placed in set locations. And trust me I know people that refuses to play FNAF because it scares them. To me Horror is not tension but rather when your sanity gets lowered and that right there depends on the person.

Not exactly a new trick. Stanly Kubrick did the exact same thing with 2001: A space Odyssey. Difference between that and FNAF is that it doesn't take and hour for something to actually happen in FNAF.
