I really enjoyed listening to Johnny here.... such a down to earth, easy to relate to guy. And Tragic Kingdom was the first album that really made me go down an emotional journey as a child. I dig the beautiful spirit embodied in Johnny. Thank you for this interview!

He really does have an amazing spirit! His songs suggest he's down or depressed, but he truly is a positive, seeker of happiness and it's refreshing!!

Yes! I totally agree! Was pleasantly surprised by his shout out to No Doubt & TK! They are one of my other fave bands, too! No wonder why I love Highly Suspect and Johnny Stevens! ❤️✌️

@@morganturnbaugh85 all of us grunge kids who grew up with Alice and nirvana and sg, we write our music our own way, but a lot of that angst or downtrodden spirit comes out, at least in my experience, not because of copying anyone, but perhaps bc those guys helped make us feel more able to share that kind of emotion when before it was all glam rock and sex. Grunge said “life sucks and you suck and I’m fcking Pissed so I’ll sing all about it and I don’t gaf if you think it’s “too down” or “depressing”. It’s life. It’s truth. It’s relatable. It’s a release. But that’s not a representation of myself as a whole. I’m not always pissed or sad. And I’ll “sing like a canary” (Laynes words lol) and make it sound magical and you’ll fall in love “ Idk. I know Johnny was inspired by grunge. Love all the distortion he puts in his guitar

Johnny, Rich and Ryan have made such a refreshing impact on the music scene since they began writing their originals...... Johnny has a superb creative mind and we merry band of followers appreciate that.

Never would have recognized Johnny in this interview ; looks nothing like him from what I’ve seen. Interesting stuff, thanks

For real 💯.dude totally changes his looks .. sometimes I think he wants to tone his looks down a bit so people see him for the person and artist he is. I don't think he wants to be some hearthrob at all

Can't lie, I just turned 36 in April and I've never been a groupie, or a fan girl, nor have I ever really felt something for an artist... But I feel Johnny deep in my chest in a way I cannot explain! I'm seriously in love with his mind and his soul, he puts both into what he does! Annddd He's easy as fuck on the eyes too lol I fucking dig him whoooweee

This guy is a badass! For at least a year before I knew who highly suspect was I thought Lydia was a Chris Cornell song. I quickly realized it wasn’t and that these guys were different and that highly suspect is highly talented and under appreciated! Johnny is a badass

I don't think it'll be coming back sadly, I hope Johnny isn't putting too much out with 3 projects. His voice is golden but to sing in 3 different groups seems redundant for anyone.

I threw my recent painting in the trash because It wasn't the tornado painting i originally had in mind. Colin took it out and set it aside and over the course of a few months I painted something over and to me parts of it are still trash. But i shared it online and it's mind boggling that people think I have talent. But it makes me want to create more.

I'd love to see it..I love tornadoes. The terror and beauty that they are, all wrapped into one. The destruction they create in their wake leave a path to recreating a new version of what's past. We are our own worst critics...I bet your painting is amazing💞

6:30 yasss! “The climb”. Such an amazing track. No one knows it. It’s like if it’s not on the radio people don’t know it. Branch out folks. Buy the records. So many hidden gems there! I love the last minute or two of Gwen in “the climb”. Phenomenal. TK was a great record. I don’t care for her solo stuff at ALL. disappointing.
