He won't be half as effective in the nfl. He had FOREVER to throw on half of these passes with a perfect pocket. His athleticism, while good, will not allow him to run circles around NFL defenses. College superstar but won't fair too well in the NFL.

Look Manziel was great that year. But are you really going to say Winston didn’t deserve that Heisman. The way his teams dominated, the plays he made, the stats he put up. You put together one of the bad games he played and Florida State still won by 27 and won the natty. Nuff said.

Heck of a game. I know his receivers helped him a lot but he was pretty accurate and didn't make too many poor decisions against a solid defense. This was a highly anticipated game and he showed up. I'm not a huge Manziel or A&M fan, but I do respect the effort he and their offense gave. I'm only commenting on this game, so I don't want to hear anyone crying about what he does wrong. Except for that int in the end zone, which I know was a BIG mistake, he played damn near mistake-free football against one of the most respected teams in college football.

@Matt Stapley regarding how much time he gets in the pocket. The opposing teams give him that much time because they only rush 3. If you rush more than 3 you leave yourself susceptible to his running. I watched his high school videos and seen him at A&M and it's usually by design. The down lineman don't rush him to try and sack him they rush him to keep him contained. A "mush rush"

Funny how many people here will defend Johnny as if he can "do no wrong". He is undoubtedly one of the most exciting players I have ever watched, and he can do some absolutely spectacular things. But there are plenty of instances in this game as well as many others that expose some of Johnny's problems as a quarterback, especially as one at an NFL level. It will be interesting to see what teams focus more on come draft time. The positives or the negatives.

I honestly don't think St Louis will draft a qb in the first round, I know they have 2 picks but I see them getting a WR & probably a OL. Since there is so much OL & WR talent in the first round. Second round I can see them looking at Aaron Murray or Aj McCarron as the eventual replacement.

We can all agree, game changer was the interception in the endzone, If that does not happen, Texas A&M wins by a field goal, because their offense is just too damn good. I mean everytime Johnny has the ball every play has the potential to be a touch down. He can hurt you with his elusiveness in the pocket, his arm, and his legs. Man is a pure god.

Can't see how anyone can complain about his arm. He is BY FAR the most accurate passer in college and there are not many who can say their arm is stronger. Bridgewater's only advantage over Manziel is his arm strength but Manziel's accuracy and decision making surpasses Bridgewater. However, I'd say the fact that Manziel completes more passes and for longer distances on average with a supposed "weaker" arm only adds to the impressiveness of Manziel.

One of the only reasons he is so good is Cus Texas built the entire offense around him so he will feel a lot more comfortable as u can see he does tons of things u shouldn't even try in the nfl...if he goes in the nfl he's prob gon end up like vince young HE HAD GOD GIVEN TALENT AND CARRIED THAT TEAM TO THE...either rose bowl or orange bowl idk but he is prob gon end up goin to the jags they could build there offense around him and" mojo" BUT he would REALLY fit in with the eagles because they have a speed offense ex.desean jackson,Jeremy maclin,Jason avant, lesean McCoy but they got nick foles but basically he has god given talent

  • @aforhan09

    @aforhan09

    10 жыл бұрын

No one has THAT much God given talent. And besides, Manziel is short and has a slightly above average arm. Compared to guys like Mariota, Bridgewater, and Bortles, he has little "god given talent." He is successful because of his improvisational ability which is due to his brain, aka intelligence.

  • @Elitesoccer1

Hard to say. The comment you're making right now is what a lot of people said about him before he went to play college ball. I don't think the pocket thing will hurt him as much as you're saying, because he has confidence and doesn't freeze up under pressure. The problems I do see him running into are size.

Saw some good things. Solid athleticism, doesn't shy away from making the big plays. Has a better arm then suspected. But he has Michael Vick-tendencies of flat out killing plays and crucial turnovers. Without the 5 TO's, the Aggies probably take it. But as an Eagles fan, I'd draft him. He has higher upside than Foles and he's probably the best player on the board when we pick.

  • @Elitesoccer1

The time in the pocket that Manziel gets doesn't just deal with rushing. A&M has been known for their offensive line the past few years. Even if you don't blitz, you're D-line shouldn't be stopped that long by an O-line, and will not be stopped that long in NFL.

It's impossible to say with certainty if Manziel will have a good or bad career in the NFL the same way it is for any player. Wilson and Kaep didn't exactly face stiff competition in college but because they were drafted to strong supporting casts they've had easier transitions. Cleveland however has good weapons for Manziel in Gordon, Cameron, Tate and Hawkins as well as many pieces on defense, and Shanahan's offense should be a good fit for him. Not to mention the AFC North is much weaker than it used to be.

  • @Sight4DaBLIND

L.S.U. and Mizzu provided the blueprints for slowing down Johnny Football. Just keep him in the pocket and make him beat you from there. If he leaves the pocket, treat him like a RB. Now if Manziel can prove that those two games were merely flukes then he's a top 5 pick, if he can't then some team will have to be in a gambling mood to selected in the top 15. I don't think he'll get past the Raiders or the Browns in the 1st rd who could trade down and select him. NFL Comparison: Jeff Garcia passing ability, M.Vick exclusiveness.

Having to play an 16 game schedule in the NFL won't protect him from having to play with injuries from time to time. Trust me! defenders who are just as fast or faster than Manziel are licking their chops waiting for an opportunity to lay the wood to him (5"11-207) when he leaves the pocket. For his sake I hope he becomes a pocket passer and only leaves the pocket when he has too...

I don't care what you guys say about JF but that kid has fight and heart in him. Down by several scores late in game he still fight and almost reel these guys to a win. If anything that AM defense sucks. That side has been pathetic the whole game. JF does a lot of things great he scrambles to hit targets, run for first down as a second options, and feed his play makers first. If anything I hope and pray his guy falls to Dallas. Dez, JF,and Murray will do some real damage in the league. JF will make sure Dez will get the ball and those guys emotions, heart, and fight will fuel, reengerize the team for many years...similar to Troy and Irvin.

Drew Brees is closer to 6'0''. Johnny Manziel is about the same size as him but I really don't think if he gets in the NFL, he will transition well.

Wish The Browns would start Manziel. Hoyer has shown he is very inconsistent and will not take us to the next level.

Manziel is amazing, but before you say the most elusive QB ever, type in Michael Vick VT highlights.

His talent is outrageous. Lets be honest here, no QB has his skill set and his swag on the field. He is already better than RG3. Top 10 Qb in the league, no questions asked. You can hate but he will have the last laugh.

all you people are saying that mike evens saves and makes him look good but a lot of these passes great thrown ball, he puts the ball were no one else can get it. if he goes to the Texans its not like they don't have receivers they have andre and deandre

Not at all. He did it only twice, and the first time, it was a good decision because it would have been 4th down and if intercepted, Bama would have been further back than if they could have returned a punt (shows he doesn't care about his stats but about the win). For the 2nd one, if you have a 6'5 receiver surounded by 3 5'11 corners, he's either gonna catch it or get a pass-interference penalty. Win-win

2:59 should technically be a running play where the QB doesn't show up on the stat sheet.

he should've gone to Texans on his first draft :( but more importantly he should've stayed all 4 years in college before going nfl
