I think he rivals The Undertaker for the greatest charachter ever in WWE. He truly comes across larger than life. Just a guy straight from a comic book, someone you just don't come across walking down the street. An awe inspiring persona.

Yes. To be fair, he's probably more technically sound than the vast majority of AEW.

I watched the 2023 royal rumble and couldn’t tell who the new guys where it was lackluster & i grew up watching the cena era of wwe and stop caring in 2018ish because it’s nothing I’m missing when it’s the same meal every monday or friday, it gets old plus tasteless.

The few amount of new stars they have, they tend to do a poor job of getting over. Then they give a charisma vacuum dwarf like Johnny TV wins.

I recorded this before he returned to NXT today. I am a prophet.

If you don't mind me asking, on your wrestling channel, are you going to review weekly shows or just PPVs?

No. 2/10.

The fact that he is short is not in and of itself necessarily something that keeps the guy from ever being able to get over mainstream in a big way. There have been a good amount of guys since the mid 90's up till today that were below 6 feet and got over. Granted they were usually more charismatic, had more of an interesting gimmick and were more buff. And the fact that you think it's so ridiculous for him to beat Austin Theory (who I think at the most is 6 ft 2 because Cena is 6 ft 1 and they seemed very similar in height) well then Stone Cold or Shawn Michaels beating the crap out of Kane, Taker, Big Show etc. is also ridiculous. (Which yeah of course it is logically, but I'm just saying it's nothing new and it's part of the over the top storytelling of wrestling) Or Daniel Bryan beating up Randy Orton. Or, obviously Rey Mysterio beating up.... Well most anybody.

Right, but to be noticeably smaller than an opponent and to get over on them requires you have the crowd invested, charisma, etc. Most shorter guys are buff at least, even Rey has noticeable gains. Johnny has a nice modeling physique for Abercrombie or something. I also just learned he's from Cleveland which explains a lot.

He’s another one of those indie, work rate guys who relies solely on ring work, but has zero charisma or character. Another guy that IWC overhypes is Claudio. I see why Vince didn’t push him. What’s his character?

@@MKAngeletti You could say that again - When I went to Elimination Chamber this year I was cringing at the Johnny Wrestling chants, he's the definition of vanilla indie guy I 100% agree with your take, Gargano would be an ideal jobber. But picking up wins over Austin freakin Theory, being booked strongly in the EC match, heck even beating Grayson Waller at Takeover this weekend, what the hell? And seriously, does anyone actually give a shit about "The Way"?

@@curryman3628 Indy marks are a big reason why wrestling has fallen so far. They want to see guys who look like them and do cool moves over legit superstars who stand out in public. Imagine trying to convince a non-indy fan that Jobby is a legit threat to someone like Theory, let alone the upper card. It works in rare instances like Mysterio, but Rey has charisma, is built, and a one-in-a-million move set.

Ill be honest I didnt watch him in NXT but hes trash, they downgraded the theme, his finisher doesn't excite me , IWC hates theory but Gargano is a sweetheart????

I think Gargano is a nice guy irl, but I don’t find him believable at all. He doesn’t have the killer instinct to be Champion. I wouldn’t get behind him as main event underdog like with Bret, Benoit, Eddie, Bryan, etc. I personally think Chad Gable is better than him.

Totally agree with everything you said. Jobby Gargano is a great nickname for him. He is a total AEW type wrestler...TK would have put the World Title on him.
