[Chorus:]
He said, have a seat, and I sat down
Is this the first time you've been to our little town?
I said, I think it is
He said, I don't like to brag
But we're kinda proud of that ragged old flag

Fucking A right! We we're once a proud nation, not sure what happened but once my daughter said she wouldn't stand for the anthem in school, I took her ass to D.C. to learn WHY we stand! My Pop was a disabled veteran from Korea, her god father served, I served and am also a disabled vet! I pounded respect into her head! At one time she was gonna be a nurse and work at the VA. She decided to be a teacher instead.

As a Brit I know we take a verbal beating in this song, but, I’m just as proud as your Ragged Old Flag as I am my own. Sure, we have had our ups and downs both as enemies and as allies but much of what is said of old glory in this video is true of our own Union Jack and I can’t think of any flags other than those of the US, Canada or the Anzacs that I would rather fly beside our own. Brothers in Arms forever 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇨🇦🇦🇺🇳🇿❤️ Edited to share the love with our Pacific brothers and mates down under, I hadn’t forgotten about you but didn’t think so many of you would listen to this track. America has become so diverse in every sense of the word that no one knows 100% what America is supposed to be. I believe that America is dead. The land my ancestors conquered is no longer truly ours. It's nothing like it was at birth and it's nothing like it was even in the 1950s. Our history, our heritage is now being destroyed. But if we just hold on we can make America something new. Awaken the American dream. It is our modern day Manifest Destiny. We've lost alot, but we've yet to lose our blood. We the people have always been the embodiment of the Union.

You know, this song brings many a tear to my eyes. To think all this country has been through, yet every year we slip further away from what we were supposed to stand for. I had many a family member who died or were injured in the name of this great nation. My maternal grandfather immigrated here from Italy and the day he gained his citizenship pearl harbor happened, so he volunteered to use his skills as a mechanic in service of his new home, in his lifetime he saw the rights he enjoyed stripped away, and had he been alive today he would be appalled. I love this nation and should the need arise, I would do just what papa Sicilia did many moons ago, and dig my boots in to keep my friends, my family, and hell, even my enemies safe and comfortable.

As a young American, words can't express how much this means to me. I spend my whole childhood being taught how to pick out and analyze every mistake our country has ever made, to notice every flaw, to be ashamed of where I came from. Even though I know that was never the goal of my parents or teachers and I'm lucky for my education, I had never really heard a word of patriotism from anyone but myself until I was 13 and heard this for the first time. I was shocked to here these words from someone like Johnny, a life long hero of mine, someone who has done so much good and helped me get through my mom's addictions, it really opened my eyes in a new way. I truly do believe that change and improvement is impossible without patriotism, we must love America enough to keep it going, enough to acknowledge it's flaws and work to fix them. American is nowhere near perfect but it is beautiful and I love it all the same. I am a highschool senior going to study U.S. history next year and that's all thanks to Johnny, as many things in my life tend to be. You are a true American hero, rest in peace.

You’re right. From the moment I stepped into a public school I have been assaulted by a history that only discredits my heritage or attacks my faith. Even my race is attacked every time there’s an opportunity. My peers have been molded into the image of our accusers. I recognise the truth. That a tree is most easily felled when it’s roots are shallow. My people have been extricated from their history and that is for a reason. Because if we have any concept that the nation our father’s died for is worth anything, perhaps we’ll raise a fuss when they try to destroy it from within and tyrannize a nation conceived in liberty. I think they’ve won though. And I’m hopeless to stop it.

Monarchism is much different than socialism and communism. Monarchism is very far right, and believe in having a hereditary ruler who rules for the good of the people with complete power. Socialism is where the government steals money from everyone, distributes it, and makes everyone equally poor. Socialism is all about being PC as well, and making the rich, who worked tirelessly to earn their money, just as poor as everyone else by stealing their money. Monarchism isn't hte same as communism/socialism, they are MUCH MUCH MUCH different beliefs.

I'm a US Army veteran who served our country during the Vietnam era. I will ALWAYS honor that old flag whenever our anthem is played. Too many Americans died to keep this country free. I joined the military when the U.S. started pulling back troops from Vietnam in 1973. I love this country and dying for it was never a problem for me. I know that Vietnam was a very unpopular war. Which war is popular? All wars are bad. There are things that go on that soldiers returning home don't want to talk about. This country has been through a lot and we are still going through more. We should always honor those who died for this country. I hope and pray that our country will heal and continue to be a land of opportunity for all people. We are all, afterall, children of God. God bless that old flag and the United States of America.

Do you see my picture? I served in the Republic of Vietnam 1968. We were told we couldn't fly our USA Flag. I spent a fortnight in a field hospital. We were under constant attack. I wrote home and told my family to fly the Flag. My grandfather put one up and flew it until he died. I'm bitter at government people telling me I couldn't fly my Flag! When I got home, I would attend high school football games. The bands would play the Star Spangled Banner and I'd cry remembering the sacrifice of many. The crowd would clap, but I couldn't while we were still at war. Now, after the law was passed that veterans can salute our Flag, I proudly salute, but I don't clap afterwards because we still have troops in the field of war. God bless the USA.

Thank you for your service. I wish Vietnam turned out differently. I remember watching a documentary on youtube about on Hue City. During the battle the U.S. Marines recaptured the Imperial Palace. The U.S. Higher ups ordered that no U.S. flag was to fly on the flag pole. But one of the Marines happened to have a U.S. flag on him, and the Marines rised the flag over the Imperial Palace. A Luietenet (or Captian) told the Higher ups about the flag, and the Highers ups started barking orders about taking it down. The Luietenet told the Highers ups "Sir, if you what that flag down. Then come tell them your self." It's been while since I saw that video. But it's on youtabe. I think it comes from the History Channel, but I am not to sure.

I’m different, but not by much, you had no choice but still fought. I said screw it and threw away the collages that I had scholarships to to fight for this free land. My Grandfather took one loom at his Red White and Black stripes and said, that’s the flag I stand for. He then took a look at his Union Jack, and said, I’ll be damned to see my Red White and Black stand for that. He fought, for all he was worth. His son, my father, decided that Red wasn’t good, and so off to Korea he went and fought. Then there’s me, but not by draft, no, I chose to fight, for the freedom my Parents saw in this country. So yes, God bless the Red White and Blue, the Maple Leaf, The Union Jack, The Red White and Black of the once great Empire, and God bless my home, of Orange White and Green.
