John sure did love June. When she was in the hospital, practically a vegetable (in a coma), Johnny would sit by her side and talk to her, read to her and sing to her. When they were going to take her off of life support, John formed a prayer circle and prayed for her. When she passed, he had her picture painted on the walls, he would stare at them. He would sit at his desk and talk on the phone, imagining June was on the other end. That's true love if I've ever heard it

He made out better than Elvis he got off the drugs and settled down Elvis got divorced and took more pills and died. Even Jerry Lee Lewis has been married about 7 or 8 times so he had a hard time finding "the one" apparently. June probably saved Johnny being in the business herself might have made her more understanding of the lifestyle pressures.

Not what I'd call a love story, then again that was never going to make into the biopic movie they made about him.

+McShave the point of the movie was the truly love between him and June, until June's death, where she died while Johnny was holding her hand. Yes, he sinned and made a lot of mistakes, as also she did, but the love between them was uncontestable, and they overcame all the obstacles to be together until their last days.

Out of all of the older artists Johnny Cash is probably the most widely known to the current generation. My parents raised me on this stuff so I have a great mix! I'm not a fan of the current "country" music played on radio today, but I love everything from the 50's to the early 2000's. Johnny and June, George and Tammy, Conway and Loretta, Hank Williams, Kitty Wells, Faron Young, Ray Price, Roger Miller, etc., etc., etc. I'm so thankful that my parents are a little older and have passed on their appreciation and love for real country music to me! I'm definitely not the typical 19 year old, especially when it comes to my taste in music. An old soul for sure! 😊

My gosh their voices matched so well together. God made that happen. That’s amazing. Reese Witherspoon played June so well. Seeing this I can see how she looked and dressed just like June. They did a great job making her look like her. June had a great distinct voice. Man she could growl and controlled it wonderfully. She knew how to work the stage. What an amazing woman. Of course both of them were a match made in heaven.

Being from Nashville, this brought back memories of early-morning TV with Ralph Emery. Johnny, had Elvis-like qualities, as shown in his moves here. His boots spoke of the influence of the Fab-Four or vice-versa. He was a super-star in a country way that is down-to-earth and genuine. June also shows her singing and charismatic qualities in this video. An interesting couple to say the least.

He is stoned out of his mind, roaming all over the stage the uncontrollable leg movements playing the neck of the guitar the whole time and the hollow look in his eyes but even still he is able to pull it off and give a great performance something that today's so called "country singers" couldn't do if they were sober and had 10 years of training. This is true country music.

Man I can see why Johnny called her long legged woman. June moved her legs perfectly with the song. She danced with her hands and legs and smile so beautifully. What a lady.

I`m 60 now. My parents had a slew of vinyls back in the 60`s . They played them all the time from when I was still a fetus until we moved out. TY mom & Dad
