If you can locate Zorn’s email or contact information would you please send it to me. We were close friends in our twenties. In Oregon and he also visited in Los Angeles. At that time he walked around with his alto saxophone. Dirty ponytail half a mustache and pretty unclean. My ear was not sophisticated enough for his music but he was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. He lives in New York and Japan. He has become very famous and his music is very sought after. He has this Jewish thing going on which I don’t fully understand. I always knew he was destined for either greatness or an asylum. Great mind. Great sense of humor and a force to be reckoned with. He won’t even allow news people into his concerts. Says he is playing for the people. Hmmmmm pretty gutsy. So if you have his contact information I will be forever indebted. Thanks

I confess I do not know anything about Jewish mysticism as far as the title “Gevurah” is concerned. The beauty of this piece of music is kind of mystic in itself and does not need a reference to be heartfelt. What is truly amazing about these seven minutes is the way these men play together in utmost concentration and harmony and joy.

gevurah is the strenght, linked to the link pole of the sephirotic tree. It suggest a contraction, like the one of a muscle. It is a compression, a movement which close and attract in a single point. it's obscurity, because of beind closed. From the same roots GVR come the name of the archangel Gabriel (gbr).

that maybe true, but music that isn't only good but has also had a tremendous amount of thought put into it i think is more satisfying than music that is instantly accessible and instantly gratifying. this might sound cliche, but its the music that "grows on you" the more you listen to it that is the most gratifying type of music, in my opinion.
