    True. At the end of this clip [at about 3:15] there is a scene where we see the assassins at the Continental get the notice of the seven million dollar bounty on John Wick. @@Xtrendence Yeah that's why I really like these movies the fact that it hasn't been Hollywooded meaning that usually the person stands there listing out their reasons as to why they are going to kill them and why they hate them so. Still, each time John kills someone he has been after in these movies it's never a long drawn-out "you fked me over" it's quick straight to the point gone. I think the fact John doesn't say a word makes it more impactful when he explains to Viggo why the dog was more than just a dog and when he kills Viggo's son no explanation no nothing just a shot to the leg to immobilize him then right up face to face so he can look him in the eyes as he shoots him in the head just straight determination to take out his target and nothing more it's way more realistic than if we had a 5 minute back and forth between Viggo's son and John about why John is so pissed off he killed his dog and stole his car before ending him.

  • @Xtrendence

    @Xtrendence

    @@larrymace2361 100%. Not even letting Viggo's son finish his sentence. John's very clearly someone who really only gives the time of day to people he respects or cares about, he literally doesn't even bother with people like Viggo's son, there's just no point in a conversation. He's not going to convince John, he has nothing to offer, so at that point it's like it's already decided, why waste time hearing him out?

  • @ReaverLordTonus
    @ReaverLordTonus7 жыл бұрын

    Considering John's reputation, I'd imagine at least half the assassins who got that message (most of which we likely didn't see) probably took one look at it and said "nope". 7 million hardly seems worth it given the only sure way to kill John Wick without getting killed yourself would be with a nuke (though he did outrun one on a motorcycle, but that was a different movie). If the bounty was 50 million then he really would have had every hitman on the planet on him 24/7.

    Yeah, but they’re not of the same stature. John was apparently employed by the Tarasov Mob for quite some time, but he may have also done freelance work on the side. Santino was (after his sister’s death) the head of an organized crime group powerful enough to hold a seat at The High Table. It’s effectively the difference between a soldier and a Senator; they live in different worlds for all intents and purposes. In addition, John has a reputation for being a man of focus, commitment, and sheer will. He’s infamous for how relentless, vengeful, and deadly he is. Hell, only just recently stories were flying about how he went on a killing spree over something so trivial-sounding as “a dog and a car.” We the viewers know it was more than that to John, but most people who don’t know John closely wouldn’t understand that. So yeah, he gets favors bc nobody wants to risk getting on his bad side. Few in the criminal underworld would dare to cross him without a damn good reason Iosef was ignorant & foolish Viggo & Caine were trying to protect their children Cassian was trying to avenge Gianna’s death Zero & Winston (and the former’s students) were both forced into acting against John by the Adjudicator Killa was trying to keep John from killing him Perkins, Ares, Ernest, Mr. Nobody, and all the other unnamed criminals who go after John throughout the films only do so either because their bosses order them to or because they want the bounty Only 2 people in the franchise truly and knowingly go out of their way to challenge John: Santino D’Antonio and Vincent Bisset de Gramont. And even they didn’t dare come face-to-face with the Baba Yaga unless they felt the circumstances ensured their safety (Santino when John was bound by the marker or in the Continental, Vincent when the terms of the duel were being decided or after John had already been mortally wounded)

I'm not sure if the old tech (like the monitors, keyboards, rotary phones and typewriters) is of any significance, other than implying just how long they've been in operation. @@dannyzero692 It's cool, but phone phreaking has been around for a long time, social engineering is often effective, most callers are using cell phones, and analog systems aren't inherently more secure. Analog systems are often worse, but the attack surface is more intuitive, a good example is locks. A pin pad lock with protection against power analysis/glitching (filtering/programming prevents exposing how wrong the pin is by how long it takes to fail or how much power the microcontroller draws, and shorting out the pad/draining the battery doesn't unlock the door), strong magnets (switching motor relays, moving internal components), guessing pins (randomize the digit locations each time to even out wear, block cameras, make the pad tamper evident, don't use your birthday as a pin), destructive entry (drilling, torching...), bad door fitment, et cetera beats a physical key (a U2F token using NFC would probably be even better). Unfortunately most digital locks are cheaply made and use an internet connection for smartphone control, or use some proprietary radio fob vulnerable to repeater attacks.

Regular guests stay in the main hotel and assassins can stay in the "Special" area. Basically it would be like a premium membership, only instead of a card you have to have a coin and the only way to get a coin is to be involved in the world somehow, so it keeps out normal people and the hotel can say that they have paid for a premium membership to keep those who shouldn't be in out.

    I just love that there's tattooed baddies working in like some underground accounting office. Like even the older lady was probably a baddie back in the day lol

    Never knew this was a horror movie. So many dead people looking at their phones...

    Most don't realize it, but John Wick doesn't only go after d'antonio because he tried to kill him, but also because he broke his phone. It's somewhat like the last one Villain trys use power over John to take something from him, and in the process unknowingly destroys something that would seem to have less significance, but actually means the world to him (John).

    @@jacobc4796He did it because he could get away with it. And he would've, if the person he did it to was not John Wick.

    When you live as an assassin take someone life to enjoy a year or more. If you taking John Wick Bounty! you live as a Legend Killer or A Nobody in a Grave..

    @The_guy_that_brake_checks_ Jerkoffs I'm aware of what's going on, I was asking why he thought healthcare means John would die. You do realize Obamacare (ACA) is healthcare right? You're demonstrating your ignorance if you think Obamacare requires funding. It was a mandate that required people to get private insurance. "Funding" makes no sense in this context.

    in john wick 5 they should add a scene where villen keeps 30 million bounty on john wick and tom cruise and jason Bourne get the Messege. they just keep the phone away. jason goes back to sleeping and tom cruise continues washing the dishes knowing it's not worth it
