1987, I was 17. Visiting my aunt in Huntington park calif, Filming of Real Men, starring John Ritter & Jim belushi. During film break, my mom sent me out with a pen and a paper plate to get an autograph. As I was walking opposite of Jim belushi, he gave me a look of disgust, I guess I looked as a peasant to him beneath him or something. Mr. John Ritter on the other hand, as I walked toward him he smiled big at me, welcoming. He said "Hi", I said hello Mr. Ritter, can I get an autograph. He reached for the paper plate & pen I had and said "who's this going to' , I said Rachel & Dan, (me & my mom). With a bigger smile he handed back items, I said thank you and walked back to my aunts house. When my mom read what was on the paper plate, she busted a gut laughing. I grabbed the plate back cause I hadn't read it yet, It said, "To Rachel and Dan, Best Dishes, John Ritter". I'm Fortunate to have Met a Warm Hearted Loving Comedic Gentlemen. R.I.P. Mr. John Ritter. ❤

Draygo, thats very touching and so humble. Henry Winkler is just as kind of a man and made me SUCH a big fan of his after meeting him at a comic-con. The man excused himself from his table while signing for guests and walked down his line of fans greeting EVERY...SINGLE...one of em. He shook the hands of everyone and continued to say, "good meeting you" and "thanks for coming out to see me today." I was blown away. Mad respect to 2 of my favorite actors who show love to those who put em there.

My mother worked for him for so many years until he passed . She was his housekeeper, he even helped her get a new car. From what I remember he was such a nice man I was a little kid when I met him, he gifted me the vhs IT movie. I’ll never forget that man he helped my mother so much.

20 years?? Unbelievable!! Doesn't seem real. He sure was a great actor!

Never heard a bad word about the guy. When asked why ABC gave him several chances at roles, the executive basically said, " He made ABC so much money the company felt they owed him and thankfully offered him other chances at shows and to be honest, everyone at the company loved the guy." How many times have you heard that said? That's a real testimony to whatxa good man he was. I was really upset when he passed.

I suffered an aortic dissection last year. Same thing that took his life. His family set up the Ritter foundation to study and bring awareness to this often misdiagnosed and deadly condition. Luckily I survived and more are surviving., and in some ways I think I and others are here because of the awareness his death brought❤️

Jim Carey HIMSELF, said he studied Ritter and his timing for comic punchlines, and how to deliver them using 'body-language.' And John Ritter was the MASTER at doing that. His 'facial' and 'body' expressions were PRICELESS! UN-MATCHED.

I liked him in Sling Blade. I always kind of liked him on his sitcoms, but until I saw Sling Blade I didn't realize how much depth he could have as a film actor.

RIP John Ritter! You were an incredible part of so many lives, that it's impossible to quantify the amount of joy you brought!

This broke my heart when he died. He was such a good part of my childhood. I will always associate John with happiness.

I briefly shared John Ritter with my then baby son. John was the voice of Clifford the Big Red Dog. Because it was John, I enjoyed watching the show too.

As a nine year old kid, Three's Company was my absolute favorite show. My parents wondered why such a relatively young boy found such an adult-themed show so interesting. My answer was because it was sooo funny!

Duuude exact same! My family and I used to watch threes company together between 80-84 when I was between 5-9. I remember telling my friends in school about it assuming they all were too and was surprised at their surprised reactions like “our parents would never let us.” I didn’t know it was considered risqué for it’s time. I remember that period so well.. That show had such an influence on me

Yeah I loved it as a kid and as an adult today. Even when some of the sexual humor went over my head as a kid I still thought the setups and Johns physical comedy was hilarious. It was just a fun show and the Jack Tripper character was very likeable.

i think i was like you all a kid watching threes company. i had no clue what JR, Suzanne Sommers, the brunette lady, and Mr Furley were saying. But i loved the faces they made, and i was probably learning American comedy through that show!

John Ritter hated having to cut his hair for the movie Sling Blade. He even wore a ball cap to conceal the haircut during a commercial he did during the filming of Sling Blade. I was shocked to see Ritter with that hair style.

He was a legend in the sitcoms he will be missed I still watched Three's Company it makes me laugh every time.

A total legend. Rest in peace.

I loved JR's acting, He was so natural so convincing. In interviews before and after his death people always spoke of his kindness. I remember how much in love with Lucille Ball he was and how he fanned out over her at an awards show.

When Rush Limbaugh guest starred on JR and Markie Posts sitcom and he said even though their political views were diametrically opposed he said Mr. Ritter was extremely nice and very gracious to him.

I cried like there was no tomorrow watching the 8 simple rules episode after he'd died. It was like News Radio all over again. He was brilliant, so good looking and apparently a really nice human being.

Funny he’s been so great in all his roles I almost completely forgot about the “Rules” show. I loved that show! ABSOLUTELY cried during that last episode. You could FEEL the grief of the cast throughout the whole thing. It was incredibly heartbreaking and I can’t imagine how that cast got through it. There is no doubt to me he was an incredibly kind human being. A friend of mine and I were eating at a Beverly Hills restaurant for lunch one day and we wondered how the soup was when we noticed it being delivered to a table next to us. Unbeknownst to us it was his soup and he saw us checking out the soup. He then asked us if we wanted to try it and our eyes met his. It hit us suddenly it was John Ritter asking us! We quickly said no no we couldn’t but thank you! He was just beyond lovely and he really tried to get us to try from his bowl but I mean we just couldn’t do that haha. He really was a true gem. I’m so grateful we were able to enjoy him for so many years. He will always be one of my favs. 🫶🏽🫶🏽🫶🏽

First day of acting class, 1989, the director asked, "Who is your favorite actor?" Each student took a turn answering... Pacino, De Niro, etc. When it was my turn, I proudly shared that my favorite actor was John Ritter! The director paused and stared at me. Then he asked, "Why?" I explained that I took great inspiration from his physical comedy and nobody delivered a punchline like him! And that smile... oh boy! Unfortunately, I never did get to meet him before his passing, but I did meet his son, Jason (an incredible actor), at Six Flags in GA. I was a bit starstruck... he looks so much like his dad! Something about those Ritters...

My family just loved John. I made sure we watched everything he was in. When I see his son Jason is in something I’ll tune it in. Broke my heart when John died.

His dad Tex, I meet as a child . My dad belonged to a county volunteer fire department. They had a fundraiser, and Tex Ritter was the main attraction. At the end ,Tex Ritter and his band all signed our program. I still have my copy. I was probably in 3rd or 4th grade. It is still a fond memory.

Without John all my favorite shows would've not been my favorite shows. He was, is and always will be the light in my TV life. When I feel sad and I catch an old show, I stop and enjoy, knowing that life is beautiful and his presence on earth was too.

I watched both Three's Company and Eight Simple Rules. John was a natural at slapstick. Everything I've heard about him was that he was a genuinely nice guy.

I grew up watching this show and still watch to this day John was hilarious and the rest of the cast was to and Don. Knotts was outstanding as well awesome show!!!!!!

I grew up on Threes Co reruns. He was so damn funny! I loved the entire cast. We all hopefully had a friend like Larry who always had two chics ready to party who he just picked up from the Regal Beagle! I was actually pretty impressed by John’s performance in Sling Blade. Very unexpected and really showed an interesting range.

I'll always love him as the dad on "Stay Tuned". Still watch it even today when I need a good laugh.

He brought so much light into the world and he is missed always.

I remember watching Three's Company while i lived with my grandma and also The Waltons!!!!!!!!!!! She loved both shows!!!!!!!!!!!! I first thought she wouldn't enjoy Three's Company because of the show's premise!!!!!!!!!!! But as SOON as Jonh Ritter appeared she was hooked and LAUGHED so hard at his antics that she had to go pee while the show was still on!!!!!!!! That was ALWAYS what happened!!!!!!!!!!! With all the honor due to the cast of Three's Company, John Ritter was the soul of this sitcom. It was not only his natural and comedic talent that attracted viewers, but there was something else that transcends the realm of the physical world. This clip also makes reference to the great Jimmy Stewart that also had an angel beyond his earthly talent.

John was inspiration in believing there really is humor in every situation. One needs but to find it.

RIP John Ritter. You were in my family's living room a lot from the 70s (Waltons & Three's Company) through the 80s and then again in the 2000s.

When I was young I got into the funny stories of 3s Company...watching it older, you realize the genius of John. Anyone remember that episode where he completely destroyed a party by knocking everything over? He seemed willing to do anything to make u laugh.

I remember when I heard he died, I sat down and cried. And then said a prayer for his wife, Amy, and their young child. 😞 Jack was definitely my fave character on 3’s company and I loved him in Stay Tuned with Pam Dawber.

John Ritter was a class act, and nothing like a typical celebrity of his level of fame. That is absolutely unheard of these days.

John was one of a kind, his show, reruns to this day only John can make me smile 😊

John was indeed a great comic actor but that's not where his talent ended. John blew me away when he played Vaughan Cunningham, the gay store manager in Slingblade. He was amazing. It caught me by surprise as I had only seen him in comedic roles. He gave Vaughan these wonderful nuances that fit so well with the other characters. RIP buddy.

R I P John Ritter, my late childhood/teen years were enriched by your antics on my then favorite sit-com. You sir and the rest of the cast will live on in my memories. Thank you.

John Ritter was a comedic genius and legend! The original cast and plenty of guest stars were also spectacular. John, in my opinion, was the best by far as Jack Tripper. Norman Fell as Stanley Roper would be my second favorite. Three's Company is one of my all-time favorite TV shows. It was back when I was a kid in the late 70s and still is today. I had the pleasure of meeting John Ritter's brother once, and I told him how funny his brother was, and how he used to make my mom laugh out loud. I still think about John Ritter from time to time. Thanks for the laughs, John. RIP Mr. Ritter.

I remember the day John Ritter passed away as I was actively watching “8 Simple Rules…” at the time. There are only a handful of actors that really touched my heart through their performances and Mr. Ritter was one of them. I love seeing all f the comments from people on here saying how warm and generous he was. The guy was a class act!

I moved to the US from Iran with my family in Dec. 1987. I learned English from watching shows like Threes Company. I owe some of my humor and comedic abilities to John. Rest in Peace uncle John. 🪷🔥🌙☀️

What I seen in my life time. The funnest ,caring ,giving individual only stays with us for a short time ..

I have never seen Three's Company but I remember John in The Waltons. I loved 8 Simple Rules and John RItter was great in it. I was shocked when I found out he had died and I think they did a good episode on 8 Simple RUles mourning his character rather than replacing him with someone else as you couldn't replace John. My sister is younger than me and watched the 2000s version of Clifford The Big Red Dog (I had seen the original series) and I saw a few episodes but I never realised at the time that John Ritter was the voice of Clifford.

I moved to USA in 1975, by 1977 Three Company was on the air. Every one of my friends talked about this show over and over. Along with John, Mr Furley is another favorite. Sommer too

John Ritter in Threes Company is pure gold comedy… I’ve seen every episode more times than I can tell you and yet I still tune in when I see it’s on. Favorite episode is the one where Jack takes a couple tranquilizers to go on a plane to a party… the, best. episode. 😂

John Ritter, the ultimate sitcom actor. Ed O'Neill comes in a close second. I learned English by watching Three's Company when I first immigrated to Canada back in the early 1980s. My grandmother (RIP) who didn't understand a word of English would watch this show with me and both of us would laugh nonstop at Jack Tripper's physical comedy.

He always seemed like a genuinely nice caring guy.

My favorite John Ritter movie is "Skin Deep." Anytime you pair up John with directorial legend Blake Edwards, you can't help but have comedic gold bullion. I'm laughing remembering the scene where he's trying to walk to his car after being given electroshock therapy treatment by Molly (Julianne Phillips). That scene had me in tears the first few times I saw it. And then there's the glow-in-the-dark condom scene...

Another great video, brings back a LOT of wholesome memories! That was one of my go to shows when I was feeling down, it always cheered me up. John was def ONE OF A KIND!! And like most of the comedic greats-Robin, George Carlin, Richard Pryor, etc...he is missed greatly! So sad how he died, but the fact that his wife is doing something to help others with the same condition is a good thing!

Loved Three's Company as a kid growing up. Later in life I lived in John's Dad Tex's cabin in Prescott Az. for a couple years. It was a blast! R.i.p. John

It was clear watching his pre-"Three's Company" stuff that he was a star in the making, as he grabbed the screen on any show he guested on, regardless of which other actors were in his presence---but he never tried to out-do them, which is a gift. When he reacted to other actors, they reacted to him with the same intensity, like they were feeding off each other in a weird dynamic. Regardless of how big his co-stars were, he brought out the best in them (and the more experienced actors might have realized how good he was and tried harder too).

Growing up as a child of the 70s, I had a trifecta of fellas that I worshipped. In baseball (my fave sport) it was Steve Garvey and the Dodgers. In movies, it was Clint Eastwood, and, finally, on TV, it was John Ritter. I can still remember exactly what I was doing when I heard he had died. I swear I was in mourning for at least 6 months and still feel a bit of melancholy every once in a while. RIP Mr. Ritter...😪

Although I started my sitcom fandom with Different Strokes and Honeymooners ultimately Threes Company became my fav.. It would always be a ritual to record the episodes on vhs and watch round lunchtime.. I’ll never forget a day came where I couldn’t stop thinking of him.. I then looked him up online.. That happened to be the very same day we lost him..

John Ritter was one heck of a man, comedian, entertainer, and a good person. It’s hard to find anything bad to say about him and that’s something to strive for.

To be honest, I didn't really watch 3's Company during it's initial run. However, I'm watching it now on Antenna TV and I think it's a BLAST! So much so, I'm "bingeing" on it right now. John was an excellent actor who captured the art of physical comedy to a "T." His dramatic acting skills were on full display in "Slingblade" and once again, he gave an awesome performance. In this life, everyone has a "corner" and John, you represented your "corner" very well. Thank you!

I watched Three's Company in high school with my very religious Greek Orthodox grandmother. We would always laugh and had a great time watching it.

I had the pleasured of meeting in person, John Ritter, back in the 80's he was at Carnegie hall early every year in September Frank Sinatra would perform there and I was on my break from my security job at carnegie I was working the side door to the hall when I look up there was John Ritter he came up to ask me if I had a cigarettes to spare and we had a 15 mins conversation .

Three's Company was my favorite show and still is this man John Ritter was so special he was funny good looking had charm and he is still greatly missed but he stays alive with the show of Three's Company because I watch it everyday I must have seen the episodes a thousand times over I know the lines by heart when you showed a little snippet here of the Three's Company show I knew exactly what show that was RIP JOHN❤😢😇
