The Wampler Moxie is soooo good. Kris's video on it sold it for me. I love the second voice with the fat switch.

The Ibanez analog delay mini is a nice pedal; I just want to mention some other options: the MXR Carbon Copy Mini, which has a Bright switch and modulation option, and the TC Electronic Flashback Mini, which can import lots of options with their “tone print” technology.

I put the velcro on the pedals with the screw from the pedal itself. Works nicely on the board and there is no need to rip anything from the pedal not even stick the velcro.

very helpful, gives me a lot of insight into how he thinks about tone; similar to stacking compressors. specifically within the gain/drive stage, understanding the added harmonics and types of clipping at each step is similar to shaving and carving transients with compressors. thinking 1176 into la2a specifically.

The rubber on some pedals is really a pain in the back. I'm happy to see that least some companies started to just put the rubber or Teflon pads just in the box.

More board building videos would be great. Perhaps showing what difference the order of the pedals makes to the tone the difference between going through the effects loop and going straight into the front of the amp.

Hello Guillaume. Nice video as usual. But if I count all the gear (even though the patch cables are not in that count), I am more towards the 1K than 500 euros. I am not sure if that is what I would call a budget friendly board 🙂 But the sound is in the ballpark, and that's the essential, even if I do not possess the fingers to make it sound like John 🤣

Would you make a video reviewing the Nux Queen of tone? It combines a Blues breaker circuit + Klon circuit and on the Klon side you can either choose the Gold or the silver circuit which is slightly different one from another, I do believe it will a good add to projects like this! Great playing as always!

Hi, do you mean in what cabinet? Because you can clearly see the amp I'm plugged into (check out the product link in the description box for details). The solid state is the Quilter, the tube amp is the REVV D40. Ohh and the cabinet is the one under the heads, it's the Harley Benton 2x12. Cheers //Kris

@@ThomannsGuitarsBasses Alright, my question is the following: I'm going to buy these pedals, but I have a Marshall Mini Silver Jubilee Combo, and it has 2 channels, clean and overdrive. Where should I connect them? Through the front input? And with the clean or overdrive channel? Thanks.

The obsession that so many people have with John Mayer as a guitarist feels an awful lot to me like the obsession certain jazz musicians have with the hard bop era. No one is ever going to accuse John Mayer of being an innovative guitarist. Everything he does as a musician is mired in nostalgia. I just don't understand why so many people want to ape a sound he himself is aping.

I understand your comment and standpoint. And I cannot defend my obsession. Nor the obsession of guitar players with *name the era* nostalgia Yet I've considered buying all items from the list just based on the miniature 😅

Anything John Mayer usually gets lots of views. There’s not many guitar gods in todays era. I agree some people have an unhealthy obsession though a lot of his stuff is overhyped and he would probably agree. But his tone is pretty great understandably.

You don’t need to be innovative to be great and unique. Everything he does is undoubtedly awesome in general. He has an incredible tone and he’s one heck of a great composer. Guess that’s what people like ;)

We've lost Jimi, Stevie and BB... Whilst they were the trail-blazers, John channels some of their stuff in his own way that's easy to connect with?! I kinda like that, but then that's nostalgia for you :)

To me it's very simple. The sounds he gets are some of my favorite. I think it's that simple for most of the people you're talking about. Preference isn't always the result of a fulfilled checklist. He's great because he sounds great 🤷‍♂️
