I know John Mayer is also a fan of people who don’t bust out everything they have at every moment but play a bit reserved. It’s whatever, just my opinion, nothing to get worked up about.     John showing he is a true man of music whether playing with Pino and Steve or kids at their gig. Props to John for not being to big to play smaller, the keyboard player for lighting the keys up and the rest of the band for holding on, doing their part (and then some for the guitar) with one of our greatest present-day songwriters and musicians.

    A very heartfelt performance. I feel like 'Gravity' is one of the masterpieces of the 21st century. I haven't listened to JM for a while and am reminded of his genius as a writer and musician. Lot of chemistry in this line up too. Very solid guitar solo and then the keyboard solo was amazing. What an awesome concert this would have been.

    Those keys!!!! Dayum!! I would also like to point out that JM gave the kid the guitar break and didn't play a solo directly after so as to avoid overshadowing the kid's really good performance. That's was a real classy move right there on JM's part. Well done!

    This is the best thing I've seen in a long time. Good on John for being, as Jim Olson commented, so generous. When is the last time he had to sing through an over-driving Roland Cube and play through a solid-state Fender Champ? The answer is, probably never.     Props to John, he didn't come back to bridge till the other guitarist was done playing that solo. And then John wanted to play the end solo but offered it to the pianist. Respect for him ! He is a musician's musician who respects other, really shows his age and experience.

    I still believe continuum was his best work and will probably be his best full album of work. He’s done incredible songs since then, but he’s got nothing to prove now like he did with continuum and therefore his albums don’t have the same weight behind them. And that’s ok. He’s just having fun and writing songs that meaningful. He remains to show off how incredible of a musician he is and a living guitar legend. Thank god we have the internet where we can capture as much of we can of his playing for generations to come to experience
