That was the guitar he played when I opened for him at Eddie's Attic in either 99 or 00, I wish I could remember! He absolutely blew my mind. I turned to my dad during his 2nd song and said, "This guy is going to be a star!".

Who knew that this young man, who was clearly a gifted songwriter, would go on to play with acclaimed rock stars, jazz artists, blues kings, r&b superstars, rap giants, country greats, pop icons, folk legends, etc. and perform on popular tv talk shows, rock and roll hall of fame induction nights, Grammy presentation shows, celebration of life occasions, etc. and also become a key part of a beloved musical group that predates him, all while maintaining an aggressive schedule of his own concert tours worldwide. It’s truly impressive, remarkable, amazing, inspiring, etc. I’m very proud of this kid from CT. Thank you John Mayer for all you have done to bring us and yourself such enjoyment. ⭐️💜🌹

hahaha that's how you have to do it! When you make a mistake just tell yourself there was no mistake. There's a rule of thumb: if you don't act like you messed up, they won't notice.

He sounds so sweet here (well except for the porn reference). His vocals are beautiful and the acoustic guitar choices sound amazing. I really love this performance. You can really see the qualities of a star, before he became a star. ⭐️💜🌹

This makes me wonder how much better his first album could have been with a good producer, and better musicians / production behind him. Pretty much all that's good in the album is due to his songwriting and skills as a singer and guitarist. But it still falls pretty flat compared to other pop rock productions of the time.
