The screaming at the end, was him trying to cleanse himself of the pain. He was going through scream therapy at the time, which was a new and controversial therapy.

John Lennon Plastic Ono Band is one of the best albums there is. Mind you it is not a party record but very emotional, best to listen on your own.
An incredibly heart wrenching song and performance by one of the greatest.
Both John & Paul lost their mothers when they were kids. I think it formed a bond between them.

Yes of course a very deep bond.
An incredible song from what is the best post-Beatles album, IMO. It scared me when I first heard it back in the 70s. Then when you start discovering the story behind this particular song, it is even more heart wrenching. Great vocal from John. Like a baby crying at the end as he tries to beg his parents to come back to him. In the hands of a lesser talent, the album could have been a disaster. Instead, it is a masterpiece....and seems to have predicted punk rock by about 8 years.
He put his pain and search for understanding to music. It’s hard understand how emotionally stunted society was at that time. He was the only voice to relate too if you were damaged in that way.He was a gift to thousands.
Cimdy, this song always gets to me, but your broken-hearted reaction was so genuine that it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for being you,. Your reactions are amazing!
His mother got hit by a car and died, and his father was never part of his life; though mama, was never really present, either. So, John was always pretty much an orphan soul.
Wow this sound awesome beautiful vioce
"His story is tragedy disguised as success", never heard it put better than that.
John Lennon was very good, I love his songs but this is my first time of listening to this song without distraction and I love it. I enjoyed the story behind the song too
Raw, visceral, gut wrenching.
The song is quite a bit touching and nice reaction vid dear 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾
This is such an emotional song. The authenticity is👌The story behind it is so damaging and heart breaking
The intro was suspenseful and then the strong vocals were very emotional heartfelt and tells a tale of two stories. Very emotional reaction
Oh my darling sweet this reaction is so emotional for you bless🥰 John is a great singer he’s got beautiful voice after all that had happened to him, God bless much love to him ❤️❤️
What an emotional song sung beautifully. Just a bit of drum and piano. Almost acapella. Daddy was in the merchant marine. Seldom home. Mom was not what a good mother should be. You are right. John poured his heart out in his music. Even early Beatles songs like "Help!" and "I'm a Loser" and others were John emoting.
Such a big voice
good bye wow amazing music i enjoy watching thanks for sharing sist
When he shoutedbmama don't go that loud, Daddy come home it cuts deep into my soul. It got to the depth of my heart. It was so much of emotions on this music video my geng
Emotional song. I love John Lennon music. Thanks for giving us the full story.
That was hard to watch. I've heard that song before but I don't think I really listened to it, let it sink in. Wow. What a primal scream that was. God bless John. RIP, brother.
This is Honesty. Powerful. This song helped me get over My parents deaths. Powerful.
The saddest Lennon song, and his goodbye to all of us, despite being recorded almost 10 years before he was killed. This was part of a psychological treatment called "Scream therapy". Allowing a person to scream all their frustration out. It was a primal technique he was into for a week, like most Lennon things.
Wow so emotional and touching
What a sorrowful song. The lyrics really got me. I feel like saying I'm sorry..I just dnt know. Sooo heart breaking
The lyrics touched my heart.........its so emtional ...i love you are covering also their solos . Nice one !
John had a difficult upbringing for sure. Even though John’s Irish father was a scoundrel John embraced his Irish heritage. John’s great grandfather and grandmother came from the same area as me in Co Down Ireland.
I love this song 🎵 first time listening to John Lennon, I like ur reaction and enjoyed watching this video
This is really emotional. violence is not good. The song is touching.

They are protesting war as adults with signs; I don't think that refers to his childhood. I could be wrong. I think the song is about abandonment.
Hello sis here watching showing love and support. Blessings 🧡🧡🧡
Hola...John Lennon had a very difficult childhood,he never got over It as he shows in his song My mummies dead.Paul McCartney lost his mom a year before and that brought him closer to John..You should see the Nowhere Boy film to understand More about John AND His relationship with His mother...I love your Reaction Video....Thanks You... Gracias.Greetings from México.
There is a movie called Nowhere Boy about John’s teenage years. It’s not totally accurate, but paints a good picture of his relationship with his mother Julia and his aunt Mimi. It also covers his first band and how he came to know Paul and George.

It's the only film about the Beatles I haven't been able to sit there correcting historically. The only minor detail I can pull it up on is the fact Paul looks so much younger than George but he's a good actor so I can let it go.
The song is so emotional, Thanks for this great song and the reaction.
Your reactions are real, nice empathic lady.:)
Everytime I see someone listen to this song for the first time they tear up. Even people with good childhoods. So simple and yet so honest and raw.
One of the gratest albums ever, Plastic ono band (1970).
So amazing thanks for sharing
HIS NAME HAS ALWAYS STAND FOR HIM GREAT SONGTHANKS FOR SHARING
He went through a lot my dear, just by watching it at first when it started I knew there was a sad story behind this song. A 17 year old trying to reunite with mom and all of sudden intoxicated comes and destroy just everything. Ooh this was sad.
He just found peace and he was murdered. He never really got a break.JLG
This song is touching love your réactions
Love this song. Miss John so much. ♥️🎼🎵🎶🇨🇦
John was brought up by his aunt but I think his mother also lived somewhere very near to him. There´s a touching Beatles song called Julia, which is all about his mother. And a little bit about Yoko as well. It´s just John singing and playing acoustic guitar.
Cimdy, (is case you didn't know), the person at 4:28 is Brian Epstein the Beatles manager. I never suggested this song to you as it makes me very sad, but I'm glad you played it anyway. Particularly this one with all the photographs. I can see this song (along with the pictures) got to you too. Understandable. As a Beatles fan it's important listen to it all from all of them, even the sad ones at least once. ✌️
I think he used the song to pour out his sorry to the universe. This music video got me in tears

It’s very hard to hear this song without me crying. Not only is John’s story a a young boy so sad, but it makes me think of all the children who are neglected, abandoned, unloved. He captures the deep emotion very well. 😢😢😢❤❤❤
This is one of the best reactions I've ever witnessed by any reactor to any artist. One of my favorite John Lennon songs. So haunting and emotional. Thank you Cindy
Hi Cimdy....Very emotional reaction to a beautiful yet tragic but ultimately genius song....The photo of the bombed building at the beginning has reference to the fact that John was born during a bombing raid over Liverpool during World War 2 .....Just imagine...Hew was born while bombs were falling overhead from German bomber planes!!! ....Bullets from a gun ended his life and everything in between was probably the greatest music of all time.... RIP JOHN LENNON 1940-1980 ❤❤ Fin in London xx
Great song from a great album
Very Nice Song
Yeah there's another song that he did for his mother it's really touching it's called Julia it's off The White Album I don't know if you've reacted to that song yet but if not that is one I recommend that song pretty much expresses how much he really truly loved his mom all right Gangin ' girl. Good Work

John was going thru janovs scream therapy at this time
His song's Love and Remember from this album are great and so is God
Such a heart breaking videos and he is so honest in this song.really a lot happened to him to ýtoo much for anybody to bear.he is a strong person after all nice music also.đ
It always makes my heart ache, no matter how many times I hear it.
Yup Jannoffs scream therapy Many of us youngsters at the time that we should go through that because we’re having trouble times going neurotic things during the 70s…
John's honest and search for truth and meaning is what attracted me to him. He was a genuine and authentic person.
Thanks to Julia for teaching John the banjo chords that started him on his musical journey. His father Freddie did not have a choice as the strong women in the family decided that John was to live with his aunt Mimi

This song is so touching and emotional mama don go
The lyrics of this song is so touching
Very heartbreaking. I can hear his sorrow and anguish. Thank you for sharing.
Scars last a lifetime.
Exactly heart breaking! John was an emotional tortured child.
A musical exhibition of emotion
You've done so many great, emotional reactions in the past, but in my opinion, this is your best! . You are too good, and you deserve so many more subscribers than you currently have. I'm sure they will come. My recommendation for another John Lennon song would be "God". And like you did with this one, I would watch the video as opposed to just the audio track. Peace
Cimdy thank you for playing my request for this song. Imagine the reaction from Beatles fans that this was the first song on his first solo album. So much different from the Beatles. Pure genius!
Hello my dear host you look very beautiful
The Plastic Ono album is the one solo Beatle album that was an actual work of art. Not for the faint hearted , it is best listened to alone.
You can easily hear pain in John Lennon’s excruciating screams.
This is one of my favourite song from this guy is really really amazing keep up the very good work stay safe God bless happy Sunday
I think this song and - (Kurt Nirvana Live version) - where did you sleep last night its so emotional that you can feel the hurt in the body!! what legends both of them!
Breaks my heart each time I listen
John and his father reconnected a few times in the mid '60s. Wiki covers this but several more authoritative books cover it in more detail. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alfred_Lennon#Contact_with_John
Heartbreaking.
This song has a lot of Messenger a big thumbs up
John Watching the Wheels
This is very emotional and powerful song 👌 and Amazing video thanks for sharing NA we Dey Here from Munich Germany Doings full support
You know. Your right. John let you know how you stand with him
Your reaction is as emotional as the song.
His father left the family.
Wow that was a very powerful and emotional song to listen to, loved your reaction and words at the end.
Here's an example of why John was a much more important writer, and more creative musician actually, than Paul... Working Class Hero and Isolation, 2 other songs from the same solo debut lp, provide even more proof! It also is an outgrowth of the "primal therapy" (which emphasizes emoting your deepest feelings physically) that he hoped would help wean himself from his heroin addiction and reduce his potentially abusive anger. Thanx

I don't agree with you at all. Paul McCartney wrote some very creative things including his tribute to John Lennon and also let it be which was a song that he wrote from A dream he had about his mother who died. Then you have the song she's leaving home as well as the long and winding road. And then Hey Jude which was a song that really John should have written but he didn't. And when you think about it John Lennon did to Julian what he's singing about in this song. John Lennon basically left Julian and treated his son with Yoko much better than he treated Julian. And I could go on and on but I totally disagree with your comment. Both Paul McCartney and John Lennon were very creative into make a comment saying that John Lennon was so much more creative than Paul McCartney is ridiculous.

Such a simple but extremely powerful and heartbreaking song, when he screams at the end it really gave me the shivers.
Estou iniciando no aprendizado da língua inglesa... espero em breve poder cantar essa linda música... salve John... salve Brasil
Father you left me, but I never left you. Jeez...and what did he do to his oldest son?
I didn't realize how much I identify, with empathy for this, I was given 2 hrs to leave home at 17, and never saw my records or things again really, I slept in a park and a toilet cause I was scared for 3 nights after, and have lived in the same kind of life transient since.. working, making effort, being kind...just reminded me, no family, no foundation, you got to be pretty strong, or find it from somewhere he did pretty well..
Hello gang gang happy sunday this music is awesome wowwwww
You gave me what I wanted from a reaction to Mother Much Love 💛
Thank you, Cim, for your reaction to this sad and tragic Lennon song. Before you are finished your journey through his solo music please be sure to get to "Jealous Guy" and "Working Class Hero".
The funeral bells were replaced by chimes of rebirth for the first song on his last album, Double Fantasy. The song is called "Starting Over".
The start of the music video was a little historic, about his parents, but I like the calm melody of the music, quite interesting and emotionally to listen to, and thanks for sharing your own understanding of the music
What a freakin' great song!
