The well loved Australian baritone, John Germain, enjoyed an enormously long career on the operatic stage. He sang with Opera Australia for almost half a century - debuting in 1957 and retiring in 1996. We hear him in an early radio broadcast from May 1st 1963 with the pianist Henri Penn. He sings three of the five "Shakespeare Songs" Opus 23 of Roger Quilter.
