What a wonderful rendition of one of my most loved songs. It holds a very special place in my heart. Some years ago, living alone in the Caribbean, 6000 miles away from my home and family in UK, I would sit in the balmy evening air on the verandah of my simple wooden house and listen to this as the moon rose in the sky. It always made me feel both homesick but comforted, as I reflected that we could all gaze on that same moon whose light tied us together by an invisible thread. Just lovely and this is now my favourite version.

As a Czech I must say the pronunciation is excellent. A lot of singers tend to pronunciate the lyrics in a very fuzzy, unsure way but I can understand every word. Bravo!

As a Czech I can not agree. Asmik has some flaws in pronunciation, and I think she is capable to eliminate them. She should use IPA, especially for vowels. And she should give more emotions to the expression. By the way, the best Rusalka interpreter on Internet is definitely Lucia Popp.

@@AtheneNoctua7 I don’t agree. Every language has it’s own melody and if you don’t follow it, you spoil the impression. Moreover, the interpretation must not be a torture for a native speaker. Rusalka’s libretto has it own quality, it’s something between a fairy tale and a poem, but, unfortunatelly, this quality is hardly accessible for foreigners. That’s why I beg the interpreters: don’t butcher it by a bad pronunciation!

Her Art of singing the mermaid is stupendous! Heavens above she is a vocal miracle!❤

Sometimes 1 thinks those winning top places may get top rewards for "showy-ness," rather than just superb quality, for example. Here that certainly was not the case, and she is so deserving.

Completely integrated across all registers. Shimmering and focused tone. You rarely hear "squillo" like that these days. Absolutely gorgeous.

Looked her up today after getting my latest Opera News where she is on the cover as "An Intense, Exciting New Star"! Wow!

This aria gets more beautiful each time I hear it!! Her version is so crystal clear!!! Stunning!!

Whoa, so beautiful! I have only started to appreciate Opera and cannot believe my luck finding this.

I have to say that Asmik's voice together with the song have achieved something unique.

I have heard many people sing this but this lady is by far the best. My body hurts as her voice takes my soul out to float amongst the heavens before returning, simply sublime. This lady is surely an angel.
