Rest in peace Jim Henson John Denver

John Denver and Jim Henson, 2 great talents, miss them both. I was pregnant with my first baby when this aired and I made sure I owned it for my kids to watch. Now my grandkids can watch it with me. John Denver was the very first concert I ever went to and it was a fantastic show. I was a huge fan and it broke my heart when he died. I'm so glad to be able to watch and remember him.

One of the best Christmas specials ever. Too bad it's not aired for the little one's today.

They should put it on PBS, hopefully they will do that in November or December 2022

The BEST Show ever. missed John a lot.

I remember watching this with my parents when I was 2 in 1979 (yes I remember that far lol) now I watch it every year with my kids

I'm still waiting for the day this is released on DVD so I can give it to Mom. I have just the first song recorded on an old VHS tape. The Muppets singing it here are different from the ones that sing on the CD/vinyl.

Me, my mom & my big sister watched this show and all loved it. They passed years ago, but I still cherish this memory. I still have the album. John was such a talented person and a force of nature. He fit right in cos he was a big muppet himself.

Silent night in German brings back memories, I went to a Lutheran school and during Christmas service the school kids always sang one hymn in German.

Quintessential Muppets, the ability to make you laugh out loud several times, and be touched to the core in others. The way that John Denver interacts with them is truly something to see also. It seems as though his love and appreciation for animals and nature works its way into it, the care he seems to genuinely show. The Muppet depiction of the Nativity story is amazing! I never thought that was something Jim Henson, and the entire group of Muppet workers could/would be able/willing to do. The whole thing is really great. I was really surprised and disappointed that it only stayed on the air for about four years before it disappeared, one of my favorites. I wish they would have worked in Noel: Christmas Eve 1917 to this, I would have liked to see how they would have depicted it, one of the greatest Christmas songs ever done. It's on the soundtrack, but not here.

Yup, and this version is as touching as there is.

I am here once again, my heart full of joy that this collaboration between two wonderful people exists. It would not be Christmas without John Denver and the Muppets.

I love this to. I watch it every year and also got the dvd.

The telling of the Nativity story from around 43:00 is perhaps the most moving I have ever seen.

A Muppet Family Christmas (1987) is my favorite of all time

Their version of Silent Night at the end is the most beautiful one I've ever found.

This has been a favorite of mine JD was one of my favorites. love the Muppets never tire of them

A donkey and ox seen in this special's "First Christmas" segment were later seen briefly with Doreen the Camel and three Muppet Show sheep in a Drummer Boy scene in 2002's "Very Merry Muppet Christmas" TV movie.
