I was a lowly dishroom worker at Harrah's casino in Stateline, Nevada when John Denver was performing there. He walked through the dishroom just to say "Hi" to us workers. He was so popular, the shows immediately sold out. He put on a special 3 am show free for all the workers and convinced Frank Sinatra to sing a few songs also. A genuine, nice human being.

I am just discovering John Denver after noticing him in Carpenters video on KZread. JD was acting there in a parade group with Karen Carpenter and Karen wanted to change John's big drum into her Klockenspiel. First, John was reluctant but after a kiss from Karen the instruments changed their owners! So in that video these two legends can be seen and heard. 🤩 I believe John and Karen had a lot of common features.

John Denver was an established lyrical songwriter/ poet when I was taking baby steps in the 70' s to start writing poetry and playing guitar. He was a great inspiration. I am so proud of his timeless music. I enjoyed watching him in his movie with George Burns " Oh God! ". Besides the timeless treasures of his ..well written songs, John Denver was also blessed with a very soothing and string vocal cords. He will continue to stay as my best male vocalist / songwriter in my book. I for one, I hope many others, too will keep his music forever in our hearts. Amy Estrada

Yeah, we tried. We lost so much and wanted it never to happen again. From that year to now, mostly not raw terrible, but hope lingered until right now. I guess we still hope, but we've added pure dread to our storehouse of emotions, not just for ourselves but for all beings from here forward. I do hope rebirth is real and that we can, if we choose, come back as bodhisattvas, and do our best to help reconcile humanity, and thus all beings, back to a natural and peaceful state. Shanti.

Beautiful still in her middle age. Then to the market mask in place. Big deal for me cause I hate leaving home. I was a teenager and dragged a friend of mine because I was a bit apprehensive to go into the city on my own. Another time was Earth Day 1990. Though I never met him, I truely miss this remarkable being in our world.

When I was rushing my MSc Biology thesis in the UWat (University of Waterloo) in the spring of 1977, I listened to songs by John Denver on a cassette tape played in a tape player I borrowed from Dr. Tamas Hamor, my officemate in the third floor of the Biology building. Thank you M masassa, you legend. To me John Denver is the most talented of all singers, songwriters, guitarists and the most kind man from the world of music. I have seen probably all of your postings of Johnny D (I call him that affectionately) and am always grateful to you for doing it. John was such a generous soul and wanted to end world hunger and care for the environment on top of all his other achievements. My favourite video is the Live at the Apollo in London concert, with The Bells of Rhymney in particular showing his incredible skills. I did see him perform twice Sydney in the 80's and feel so lucky that I saw him live. I wasn't a huge fan at the time, just went out of curiosity and was awestruck at the ease with which he appeared to sing perfectly in tune for every single note. He must have been working hard on stage but made it appear like second nature; a walk in the park. So when he came back not long after I felt compelled to take my parents, siblings and closest friends with me to see him again, and bought about ten tickets. My father, who was a musician himself, was not too keen to go but after the concert he was also enthralled at John's talent.
