I am looking for a full suspension seat mount for the john deere 420 garden tractor I just purchased. It currently has the stock metal spring and it doesn't go far enough back, I'm a really big guy 350 lbs.

Doesn’t the seat just sit on the rubber stops? The seat mechanism which has springs already along with the “scissoring” mechanism is what gives you the suspension. Mine looks like yours as I have a x758. There is one rubber stop in the middle under the mechanism which will bottom out if there is a enough weight put on the seat. I know on 1025r, which I think is basically the same seat, some have replaced original seat springs with upgraded springs to prevent this bottoming out. I don’t weigh enough to warrant this change, but curious about your springs in lieu of the rubber stops. Thanks for all your videos!

Adding the springs works with the existing ones. They give a softer ride before the main springs operate. It actually gives more of a range than just the original springs. I need to take a video to explain exactly what I mean. It hard to explain with words. I can tell you it is much better for my back now.

Will this work if the seat bottoms out. I’m a big guy and want a scissor suspension and John Deere says it can only handle 200 lbs then there are upgraded springs that brings it up to 260lbs but still no good. I figure up grade the springs and then use your trick.

I believe my extra springs will help. I added these to my loader tractor which bounced and I would bottom out. This definitely helped. I am about 200#.
