John Deere Harvester Stuck in the Mud / Part 2
Part 2 of getting the corn harvested in the mud. This time not only did the tractor get stuck, but the chopper got stuck also. It took 2 tractors to pull it out. But in the end, we were able to finish 2023 corn silage harvest.
Thanks for watching!

I think that’s the first time I’ve seen Kevin seem to be even remotely aggravated with a situation but he still handled it well or at least better than I would have.

I miss farming a lot but getting stuck, not so much.👍
Too much rain in Michigan, can't imagine trying to get in the fields. Good luck.
You know it’s serious and aggravating when Kevin isn’t smiling. Praying for y’all. We know all too well these same struggles. We appreciate y’all so much
Farming is hard ,harder when it's muddy
A few weeks behind on the videos. This brings back some bad memories. In the 70s/80s we had more than a few very wet falls. We had mostly heavy red/blue clay soils! Two row pull type harvester, 150 hp FWA tractor on it. Much of it had another big 2 wheel drive pulling in front. Two years we chopped all the corn after the ground froze. No processor, 1 1/2 screen. Luckily fuel was cheap back then! (2 20by65s and topped of 25 by 80 Harvestore) 👨🏻🦳 🐄🐄🐄 🚜
God Bless you, Kevin. You held it together better than I would have.
What a pain in the butt mud is. Makes everything harder. Can quench your joy. It's one of those "been there done that".
WOW! LOTS OF FOOD TO STORE! Good job everyone!
Great job. As we have plenty of food on our tables……We owe the. American Farmer, Thank you for a job well done.
Kevin kept his cools the best he could , a smart man , he used comment since , stay safe everyone ! Better hours ahead!
Hands working together as family. ✨
That was good for showing the frustration of getting the job done in the mud. That was a great video of how you all work together. You all helped each other and you did not blame others. . . . and I noticed that you still served hamburgers that evening for supper. That was impressive. Your family does not likely want to hear this but the video is a blessing to others. Thank you.
Yes this is just one of those days when you have to wake up and not do an auto pilot. It as you said always works out in the end. It is these times when we can shine are our best by step forward to meet the days challenge. My prayers are with you and for you as you work through this nasty soil condition. I prayer the Lord for a bit of wind and sunshine to be of help in our Lord Jesus name. Amen. 🙂
Oh, my goodness, that is a lot of mud! So much silage to cover, I bet that took some time to cover!
This family had some real challenges to overcome with the muddy field but working together they got the job done.
Yes ma'am, that was one soft area y'all got in, but I think Kevin handled it good. I can see that all three of you were getting a little concerned about the situation, but Kevin came up with a fix to get through it. Well that's just what us farmers do when we run into a problem, find ways to work around or through it. Good job, thanks for sharing, I hope everyone has a great week ahead!
Nice job you guys. Ethan is a good operator. I've been in that situation so many times, Kevin does a nice job keeping his cool even though you can tell he's irritated. Ronda you do a good job getting the whole thing on video on top of everything else your trying to do. That was really nicely executed. To people just watching this on video and never have done it, it's easy to try and give advice or put their two cents in but it's not easy when you're there doing it, thinking about the cost of your equipment and your crop you're trying to get in on time etc.

Thanks for your kind words!!
Kevin, is always kool under fire, with a loving family backing him up! 🙏
Family working hard together, been there with mud... Nothing worse. Stay strong, bless you and your family!
Kevin was irritated but remains calm he’s a good man.
Great family effort getting unstuck, finishing the harvest, and covering the crop. I give Kevin credit for remaining calm and admittedly "not knowing what to do".
i remember when i was young and im saying back in the 70s we had so much rain we had to hand sicle the corn off and put it on what was called a stone boat and take it up to the silo and hand put it in the chopper and then into the blower and up into the silo now that was a long time ago
Glad you got worked through it
A frustrating time when there is so much rain and things get stuck! Hang in there! A nice freeze would help out 😀
I don’t know how everyone keeps cool! I farmed for 44 years in west central Ohio and have those dreaded memories.
We should give Kevin some slack, he’s upbeat and positive from what I’ve seen most of the time when most people would probably show their frustrations. I give him attaboys all the time.
Hi Rhonda you’re rocking that fringe today. 😊
I know Kevin u looked very trusted but by God's grace you have achieved your goal by getting the corn done except the earledge corn hang in there you will get it done you guys r hard working crew love u guys❤
That's the first time I've ever seen Kevin close to his ropes end but he kept it together and came up with a plan. No equipment got tore up and only a broken log chain. You ended up with a lot of silage considering the challenging growing season you've had. 👍👍
A little mud never stopped General Patton and little mud won't stop Kevin.
It is frustrating when your plan don’t work out and you don’t know what to do 😡 Kevin still kept his cool 😎 Ethan did some awesome driving 💪🏼great job everyone 😊Aloha from Hawaii 🤙🏽😎🌴
Yankum ropes reallt good products! Made for these situations.
More rain coming everyday through November 2nd. Plus winter temperatures coming the first of November. Getter done guys.
I have seen many guys go ballistic with field problems. Kevin a little agravated but handled it better than most. 🤔
Invest in the Yankum rope, really a amazing product. After stretching tight the recoil is surprisingly strong
Great job Ronda, Kevin and Ethan, considering the lousy conditions, very frustrating👌👍🙏🙂
Wow what a struggle with the mud. Even the cool calm and collective Kevin let his frustration show. Frustration can turn to anger and a short fuse. The anger can be directed at whoever is available. Thanks for sharing this video. It's got to be a good feeling to have next year's silage made. I still am thankful for rain, and will take it over drought any day.
I have very heavy clay soils as well and we are all having problems getting crops off. There are many quarters of soybeans sugarbeets corn and sunflowers.
I wish I was more like Kevin he kept it kool
Kevin , keep your head up young man. The Good Lord said he won't put any more on us than we can bare ! I've had to remind myself of that quite a bit over my 65 years , and I'm ever so Thankful when I can look back at all He has brought me through !! Praying for all of y'all 🙏❤️🚜🇺🇸

Thank you!
A tall hill of corn came out. It's good that you have a large supply of silage.
Yankum ropes safer then chains , kinetic stretch check out Matt’s off road,or Laura farms both use them,Laura has the size you guys need large one pulling out large John Deere tractors.
Keep on keeping on that’s what Farmers do.
The fun never ends
A dry year will scare you a wet year will brake you
Glad you didn't edit the realities and frustrations of life on the farm. I've concluded that Kevin is mortal...
Have days where it's too wet, Kevin has always a smile on his face beautiful effort by you all sending love ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Great video

You need to look into these. Much safer than a chain! yankum recovery rope - Made in the USA - Recovery Gear
That is some crazy mud. Poor Kevin I think he was a little frustrated, and I don’t blame him at all. Glad y’all got everything unstuck. That’s a gigantic pile of silage.
the duals on the back help
Good afternoon from keavy Kentucky I hop you and your kids and your husband is doing good and doing okay and you and your family doing good jobs 👍 👌 👏 😊 😀
Yep just another day in farm life in the rain, and when plans run out wing it!
This is why you need a 100' of 3/4 cable and that way the person that is pulling you isn't in the Same Ruts and Mud as well and usually can stay in the dryer Areas and also At the Farm Auction's those Very Cable's go Dirt cheap and nobody is buying them and think about the how heavy they are but I don't have to go ahead and carry it to the stuck vehicle, I usually just let it drag behind me on the road till I get there and By then it's nice and shiny to be seen and a Great investment.....
When this happened on Laura Farms, they brought out that great big Yankum Rope and boy was that rope strong. It could lift tons in a dead lift and it sure could easily beat that extremely heavy chain. Maybe a drainage ditch would lower the water table to allow that part of the field back to usable self again.
I want a mud hole glad you can get everything done❤
Mud should be a 4 letter word. Makes everything twice as hard and half as fast. Great job to all of y'all, and great video 👍
👍 God bless.
What a team effort - but he will always get your windscreen 😂
Hi Kevin, I would have to say your family is lucky to have you! You are a very good example of, When things get tough the tough get going! All of you are very good at what you do, I enjoy watching each and everyone of your videos. And usually beside every good man is an equally good women! Thanks again for another video Ronda! People in this world could sure learn a lot from each and everyone of you!
Bravo Rhonda and Kevin a hard-working family, always inspirational blessings
My farming in wa. State was stuck in mud, then stuck in mud again! I feel your pain! Sadly a person does get used to being stuck repeatedly! Great vid, stay safe!
You need a Yankum Rope they make large ones for big equipment. They are a conetick rope that works like a rubber band. I have been very surprised how well they work, pull out trucks much larger then my truck. Tow straps have no give.
Think might be time to put underground drainage pipes unlong field in places to aid drainage
Awesome hard work love how you work together even through difficult thank you for all hard work you all do as always you all be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸
I watch ur videos it is amazing what u an family accomplish by every one working together.this video. Video u made about chopping corn is amazing working in the muddy field to chopp corn 🌽 and being stuck in mud getting out is amazing
When I was a teenager on a dairy farm we had falls like that. Chopping with 2 tractors hooked together on a pull type chopper, still couldn't go, Dad had to buy a 3 point hitch chopper that fall. Thrashing around in the mud slows things down bad and can get expensive.
You need check out the yanking ropes for pulling equipment out of mud
If that job was easy everybody want to do it .hang in there and god bless
As aggravating as the mud is for harvest, Kevin needs to remember that getting stuck is great youtube content!

Your comments made Kevin laugh! 😄
Been there, Done that!!! It is no fun at all, especially when it is cold, rainy, and windy. Glad everything is unstuck, and you were able to regroup.
My heart goes out to Kevin, that situation he was in is tough! He always wants the best for you Ronda, his family, his machinery and also doesn’t want to damage his land. When put under pressure the fuse can be short. Glad you got all safely gathered. I remember a video you guys made a few years ago and the challenger was pulling a borrowed trailer. Very wet. I dairy farm in Ireland with over 50” of rain per year Thanks for the video.
Never saw that look on Kevin. 😂 Certainly understand the frustration tho. Dry Summer then wet Fall. Amazing. Still you push on. 😊
wow it can be tough times
What an ordeal you all had to go through. Such patience you all had.
nice hair Rhonda!!!
Nice job you guys. Love y'all ❤
Some days just are that way prayers for a few dry days❤
You look so young with your hair cut . Mud is the worst i remember those days wish you better days to come .
Thought that he told Ethan to back in
and yes your selfunloading carts are faster closer to home i agree 100% but not in mud
You sure do need a Yankam rope.
Looks hard and muddy love your videos 🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍
Yes in county Cork Ireland we got a months worth of rain in 24 hours

Great video. Thanks
You didn't have your usual smile 😅
Sure is a real pain when there’s a lot of mud but you guys were good together as a family and you get the things done no matter what yeah sometimes tempers get a little heated but that’s OK it’s understanding and in the end you guys get it done and that’s the most important that you work together as a family hope to see more videos wish your videos were longer at a time truly do enjoy seeing everyone working together. Hopefully you’ll get a chance to show some more you know you might even consider getting you a GoPro that you can either put on your head or one you can mount on your chest and that way you wouldn’t have to hold the camera. It would just be wherever you are just an idea.

I do have a go pro, but I don't mount it to anything.
You look amazing
Tough going in the mud, we had similar problem one year after a hurricane went through.
You need a yenk em rope. It will stretch.
We could use some of that rain here in Missouri, we had a burn ban in effect yesterday. Is there any difference in pulling power/traction between the Massey and the Challenger? Hopefully conditions will be better for finishing earlage. Blessings to your family and have a safe week.

Thanks for shareing, And yes this is the first time I saw Kevin just a little upset... Great job Kevin! When it's that wet there are plenty of issues. I always wonder if he ever says stop filming n put the dang camera down? Great content from an American family farm!
Kevin needs a time out 👍😂
Wow, that's tough going.
