Playing with a Cuban chain and bracelet. Mullet and sunglasses. Aside from a great hip turn and swing, I think thats why Daly is so liked and respected by most golf fans and players alike. He never tried being someone he isn't. In a sport where you are taught to be a specific way, act a certain way, Daly brung such a refreshing vibe and atmosphere to the sport just by being himself.

I'm a huge fan of John Daly. I try to live life like he does. I play golf, but I'm not nearly as good as he does. But, I've got the rest of his lifestyle down good.

Tom Smith he was a great distance putter as well. He putted unbelievably well at the 1995 British open from 50 yards away in many cases. Holed a double breaking 40 footer over a mound in the playoff for the lead. crazy good. Didn’t even have to worry about the short ones, which weren’t usually his best

We love JD. He has been through a lot. But he is one of the rare ones that when he hangs it up and we don’t see him play anymore. Will be a guy we all remember. He may not have won the most trophies. But he won us all.

JD was so much more than big drives. He had incredible touch around the greens, great imagination and an excellent ball striker. I met him once back in the late 90s and he was also incredibly friendly and gracious. I would have been shocked if he said more than hello, but he talked to my brother and I for over 5 minutes. Real cool dude.
A lot of people talk about "what if this" or "what if that" when talking about J.D. but it's important to remember that his pro career was/is still very successful by any measure.

@@atomzero1 There are exactly zero people with comparable careers in the Hall of Fame. John isn't close to being in the hall of very good. I like John but he spent most of his career outside of the top 200 in the world. He caught lightning in the bottle a couple of times in majors. He was basically Andy North.

I have started golf this year and Daly is such an inspiration. A free spirit who showed that golf can be just about fun.
John Daly was pure "box office" on and off the course. A superb golfer who had to contend with the Golfing establishment and many of his own demons. Wild Thing!
This guy should have won so many more championships and you can tell he fed off the crowd. One of the few badass cool guys left in sports that most importantly cared about the fans he has no ego.

JD is one of those guys that may not have realized his unlimited potential but is still the most talented golfer in every tournament he enters. Dude is just gifted beyond beyond.
Always been a favorite. He's the man to watch and have fun
Whenever I see Daly,I smile and remember how my Dad's face would light up as he watched his antics on the golf course at some tournament on the television.
My all-time favorite golfer! 💯🎯✔️
He’s just got so much flexibility for such a large masse , he whips the club with a simple quick twitch movement . So much torque , with seemingly such little effort
LOVE John Daly montages!

Love the way he turns onto the ball, just a fabulous swing.
Listen to the crowd go crazy amazing lol
His approach shots to the green were absolutely extra extraordinary 😳👀‼️‼️ Phenomenal Golfer👍
Seriously, you gotta Love John and his attitude towards Golf. He wasn't just a big driver, his short game was brilliant as well. To me, John played Golf for the fun and the money, not to be the best in the world. And that is fine, as Padraig Harrington said he played Golf and just wanted to be a Journeyman, win enough to have a nice lifestyle. I always loved watching John play as he made it fun.
Such effortless swing
National tragedy he never played in a ryder cup😔

I was just wondering that. Surely he should have made 95 side
I've always said he had one of the greatest smoothest swings I've ever seen. If he just had the mental toughness like a Tiger Woods or Jack Nicklaus there's no doubt in my mind he could have had 30 or 40 PGA Tour victories and several major wins.

The man known for his driving, doing damage with the short clubs. Love this guy.

Dont watch golf but SC Reviews mentioned how cool he was so checked this out. More of a snooker fan here in England and he reminds me of the super cool, talented Jimmy White.
Definitely one of the most naturally gifted player to ever do it

Hope he can improve his health so he can continue enjoying golf. I love watching him.
One time back in the early ‘90s I remember watching him play a 630 yard par five and he reached the green in two!
I was at the 2014 Travelers following Daly on Saturday and Sunday. He's such an entertaining guy. Smoking cigarettes and drinking the entire time
