​@@zombiTroutWell, he was choosing a Film Noir themed Top 10 to correlate with his album, so most were noirs, but he did choose a great Howard Hawks film that's a bit noir-ish, Only Angels Have Wings. He definitely would choose Rio Bravo if it was an overall movie list though. On that point, Rio Bravo isn't in the Criterion Collection, it definitely should be, in my opinion. At least Red River, another great Howard Hawks/John Wayne Western, is though.

Went to see a special presentation of the cleaned up re-release of Suspiria (the original obviously, not that foul remake) in a cinema a few years back, man, that soundtrack was wild in full dolby, loud as hell too!.

John Carpenter is such a legend - made a number of absolute classics, started to fall off when it came to making films so he said "Screw it I'll lean into music" and blesses us with amazing synth albums. Thanks John!

Dawn of the Dead and Gobin, the Beatles, Rondo of Blood... its like they raided my room! My favorite one of these ever by far.

As a musician, I owe a lot to John Carpenter. The visual concepts, characters, soundtracks and sounds of his films were burned into my brain 40 years ago and continue to flow into my own music. I bow to this genius. Thank you, Sir! Greetings from Germoney ;-).

Where do I even begin here? The beach boys, video game soundtracks, Suspiria, all wrapped in a conversation with my favorite director at one of my favorite stores.

Really bummed I missed John Carpenter at the local con recently. Wanted to compliment him on his music.

Video games those days have better scores than most movies. Guys like Jeremy Soule are cranking out amazing symphonies for games.

Surf's Up was the first Beach Boys album I ever bought on vinyl (prior, I bought then on cassette and then on CD), would have been late 1990s or early 2000s, but I don't remember where I bought it. It sure as hell beat out Still Cruisin, which was the first album I ever bought with my own money way back in the 1980s.

I have to imagine John Carpenter owns a whole lot of amazing analogue studio gear.

I love their collaborative work, and obviously John Carpenter's stuff is legendary - but Daniel Davies shouldn't be overlooked. His bands Year Long Disaster and Karma to Burn along with his solo stuff is just amazing (check out the hidden faces EP with Jess Margera from CKY on drums and Brad Davis from Fu Manchu on bass).

If that is the 1994 release of the Blade Runner soundtrack is the one that omitted much of the film's score, blends tracks and included compositions not used in the film. The 2007 Blade Runner Trilogy: 25th Anniversary is better but still not complete and contains a bunch of music not in the movie.
