Yes, when Travis isn’t trashing people he’s very entertaining and very knowledgeable but I haven’t enjoyed him trashing people nonstop. Great job by everyone today. A few technical issues and refs had a couple issues with fighters taking too long etc but overall this was the best reffing for east vs west. Pilcher does a great job.

John deserves every appearance fee in the world. The man was the entire sport for 40 years and did it when there was no pay, no notoriety, no appreciation. I hope he attends every one of these and/or KOTT he can. Even if just being a presenter, a commentator, doing seminars, signing autographs. He owes nothing else to the sport. It was great having him on the mic! As to Larratt: What else can we say? I think the world - especially in light of the internet habit of watching guys lift a ton of weights on KZread and *ahem* balloon up to enormous sizes - doesn't realize that Devon is one of the greatest of all-time. He has endured a decade of surgeries, setbacks, injuries and weight fluctuations, but now seems healthy and stronger than ever. He doesn't have the bulky, puffy look of these monsters from the East, but he is every bit as strong. His hand may be the best in the sport right now, and the height of his lever is a nightmare for some guys. This was always going to be his best way to deny Ermes his favorite lanes and it worked. Many guys who pull Devon not only struggle in the setup, but can't believe what they feel once the match is going. Devon trains very specific movements with precision and accuracy, and can make micro-adjustments during every split second of a match; feigning to give you a lane you think you want only to spring a trap and take you out of position; he attacks specific nerve fibers and finds a multitude of ways to finish you. Ermes had his hand taken, which wasn't a surprise, but the fact Devon stone-walled him when he tried to press was massively impressive. But, Ermes is also becoming a great champion himself and is learning from it. He knows what to work on. He obviously has great power and explosiveness, but he needs to secure his cup against guys with taller or bigger hands. Reel them in through containment instead of reaching, and then he can access that incredible power. The great champions always learn from the past but look towards the future by working hard in the present. Ermes will do that and forge his own legacy as John and Devon have done before him. Health-willing, he has a good decade or more to continue to carve his name in stone. In the meantime, credit is due to Devon.
