Joey Barton Q & A session #3

Here's the third - and what I believe to be the most insightful and relevant - version of the Q & A session to date. I delve deeper than ever before into the issues surrounding England future development, players' wages and benefits of playing abroad.

I respect Joey Barton, he's a very well-spoken player. Although some of his past behaviour may be deemed as outrageous, I can fully understand the mentality behind his actions. You can't tell me you've never had that burst of anger and rage where you just want to destroy and batter your opponent. I certainly have, and you've got to keep in mind that most of us have never played in a stadium with 20,000+ fans screaming and pushing you on, which will only intensify and feed the rage.

great video Joey! some really great ideas about the FA discount, really interesting. Liked the talk about how coaches and club owners have no motivation to grow young players. Keep up the good work and look forward to seeing at OM some time

The UK should develope the same system as they do in Germany and Spain where young players can play for the 2nd or B Team that play in a lower professional league (mostly 2nd or third highest) where they play against established and exxperienced professionals instead of players from their own age.... they learn more this way. Thomas Müller, Schweinsteiger, Hummels, Kroos, Jesse, Mata, Eto'o, Iniesta were all products of this system

There is no possibly way you can compare the academy system to genocide but I do understand your point it has made us lose out on some great players for sure :)

Do Barcelona and Real Madrid have it right by having B teams in the 2nd tier of Spanish football?

Players picked on reputations and which clubs they play for. Until that ends we, England, will always be shite. We've had three players reach a hundred caps recently, look at the 100 cappers before that and you'll see Gerrard, Cole and Lampard have no business getting 100.

Stop making 11 year olds play on full size pitches and 11-a-side. Small sided games on smaller pitches, that way each kid gets far more touches of the BALL. Yeah you remember the footBALL, give them that to kick about with.
