Joe Rogan "Only Tony Ferguson SURVIVED HELL WEEK with Goggins!"

Спорт

Joe Rogan's take on Tony Ferguson training with Goggins is fascinating. They also discuss Islam Makhachev's knockout of Volkanovski at UFC 295. Moreover, they speculate if Dana White will soon be a guest on the Joe Rogan Podcast!

Physically it is indisputable that Goggins is a physical specimen and perhaps there are 5 people who can withstand the type of punishment he puts on himself. But at the same time that life has a physical limit. The problem is reaching that breaking point and not realizing he is the one who will break himself. Tony isn’t ready for more punishment. He takes already too much inside his MMA training. And he is already mentally strong. Insanity doesn’t mean better fighter. Knowing your Limits is important to win too. His problem isn’t physical…is tactical.

Not discrediting Tony either btw.....He's also a 1 in a million in that he's an elite tier fighter, with insane cardio, supreme striking and an otherwise debilitating mental condition that hes using to his advantage. Meanwhile I wasn't even phased because that was the way I trained all of the time. Was actually way harder for me to train under other people.

Based on the video it looks like Tony's pace is twice that of David hence why he would be visibly more exhausted.. whenever I go cycling with friends [who do not own a road bike whereas I do] I can easily outlast then simply because my bike allows to optimize my cadence compared to theirs (they work harder than I and naturally tire quicker)

@@iznogood3147because goggins is "on the road bike" while ferguson is "trying to keep up on a mountain bike or bmx bike" its more impressive when a man is able to keep up while using less efficient means to do so... Or imagine goggins is riding a bike and ferguson is trying to keep up just running on his feet... If you put goggins in the cage, i guarantee he gasses out before ferguson.

This training was not what Tony needed. He is ageing athlete and so recovery should have been factored in. Tony was just exhausted by Goggins, with no real focus on who he would be facing and what training would best help his for this specific fight.

Athletes train to compete, not simply to destroy their bodies. Theres a reason goggins sticks to unquantifiable "motivation" and not real physical training. Goggins has an abysmal track record too, he only showed up once to the fight that hed been training every waking moment for, then he never went back. Dude was a psyop/recruiting tool.

When Tony is trained by Goggins, it is much harder for him than Goggins. In fact it's as if Goggins is doing the same thing while being as out of breath and exhausted as Tony. Of course Goggins can do it and has already done it to the extreme. but this is to say that the effort made by Tony is much greater than the effort made by Goggins during training. Running when your heart is at 120bpm or at 180bpm there is a gap. The oxygen is not the same and therefore the force deployed is not the same, you will more quickly develop cramps and other physical problems linked to muscular fatigue than someone who does this daily. Mentally Tony has nothing to envy of Goggins.
