Maybe now but for about 20 years he had no use for his kids, was a fall down drunk, a pill popper and a crackhead. Glad with DDP's help he turned his life around and hope he lives another 20 healthy years.

He actually went to my local Comic Con and my dad and I got to talk with him and Hacksaw Jim Duggan. We were surprised that there was nobody in line, they were just sitting there chatting amongst themselves. So we walk over and start talking and the both of them are so awesome.

I actually burst out laughing when he said he kicked her haha

I went to a local wrestling match with a friend of mine and his Grandma and she was the best damn part! She went to every single show and she would throw water, fling water bottles, cuss them out, try to chase them around the ring...I have never laughed harder than when I was watching that blue-haired old country woman chasing a sweaty three hundred+ man in a purple polyester suit while she took off her belt and telling him she was to going to tan his hide since his Mama apparently didn't do it enough! She never took it too far, and she had been going for so long that she was practically part of the show. When she got sick the wrestlers would come to visit her, and they all packed her funeral when she passed on. They had to draw names to figure out who would carry her casket because they all wanted to do it. That was an awesome woman.

That's sweet in a way. I always love all people & hearing she passed reminds me of my dad who passed away beside me on the ninth days ago. He had cancer, was given 2 weeks, & sent home to rest. I was with mom & he was asleep next to us when he shouted in his sleep. We figured it was a nightmare. Turns out he'd had a heart attack after he bled out. He lasted just 2 days. Dumb oncologist.

I don't comment often on KZread but couldn't resist on this one... One of the best interviews I've ever seen. God bless Jake the Snake. Joe, hire this guy... I could watch this all day long

Wrestling really blurs the line between reality and the show. I am no fan of wrestling but its this aspect i really admire.

I was 12. and I still love the guy. its a real shock to someone who like me comes from a family of loudmouths (french/Italian/Spanish blood). and meet what was essentially a giant guy (I'm all of 5'2 and female) who was so quiet spoken and kind mannered.

I loved Joe’s face after they cut to him when Jake said “ I would not run from that man”

my favorite wrestler of all time man..n he was before my era the dude deserves nothing but love for how far he's came so glad you're alive jake

As much as Joe likes to shit on the business he has always made it clear that he admires the guys doing it for how tough they are with what they put their bodies through. His favourite one is to point out that Brock Lesnar has said it was easier being the UFC champion than a full-time WWF wrestler.

Jake probably doesn't think about this, but the guy's honesty has done a world of good for many, many people out there. He's helping people and probably doesn't know it. Wish more people had the guts to be this honest.

Jake is such a great storyteller, I could listen to him all day.

I was prepared to legit hear the story that was about my grandmother lol. My grandmother being the crazy old southern woman she was threw a brick at one of the wrestlers in WCW I believe when they came to Jacksonville in the mid 80s if I remember the story correctly.

He said I kick her in the face😂🤣😂🤣🤣 I know I shouldn’t laugh but it was funny so unexpected

It was a box cutter which has very fine sharp edge. I laid my hand open going to pull a can lid off and my hand slipped. It bleed bad enough my wife wanted me to go the emergency room. But enough and a few packets of bleed stop it finally quit. Then we cleaned and bandaged. It looked awful for a good month but now what was a cut the covered a good quarter of my hand. Is now just a barely perceptible line under my right middle finger. That was less than year ago with from tin can lid. Box cutter's a lot sharper and the blade is more fine. He took the cut decades ago so it's not likely much of a visual.

One of the best stories was when a wrestler was kayfabe blind and the bad guy was about to attack him. A fan came to the side of the "blind" wrestler, holding a loaded gun, telling the wrestler he has his back. The face didn't know what to do because he couldn't compromise the business.... Jim Cornette tells it best.
