Louis Theroux has a unique style, he manages to be respectful to the subject manner while still exposing what needs to be exposed. He also seems to have no ego which is very disarming and helps people open up to him even though they know what he is up to. Just a genuinely good bloke.

I would love to hear a 2-3 hour podcast between Louis and Duncan Trussell. IMO they both tick all the boxes for an ideal podcast guest - kind souls, super interesting stories, engaging, highly intelligent, humble and funny. They’re like KZread unicorns….😂

Stunt Panda Think Louis was trying to frame a devils advocate argument then quickly thought better of it. It's clear that neither of them think that it is in any way shape or form justified. His only point was that being murdered doesn't automatically validate a position which is correct but I agree he was a bit ham handed about it.

@A Glass of Freshly Squeezed Ass Juice he had a series called 'When Louis met' back at the turn of the century and did an episode with Saville. He became sort of friends with him in a way. Kept in contact and saw each other occasionally but nothing major from what Louis says. Saville was a master manipulator though and Louis talks in a documentary called 'Saville' which he released a few years ago, after everything came out. No reason to not ask him about the bloke though. Seems very open about Saville when asked

Kristi you have a real treat in front of you when you start watching his docs. He does a brilliant one on Thai brides. This was one of his earlier ones I think. Then of course there is the Jimmy Savile one. So many interesting docs. M Kennedy.

This is a great podcast. Recently I've been watching a few of Louis documentaries and I've found them really interesting as well as Louis style of journalism. This podcast was a great way of "getting to know him" a little better. The way he articulates his ideas, his opinions and how he's thinking. I'm fascinated by how humble he seems all while maintaining a highly objective attitude while using sharp analyzes to present his point.

Hearing Louis speak always gives me the warm feeling of hanging out with a friend...that is pretty special. I get a similar feeling from Ricky Gervais, Louis CK and Brian Cox, too.

Leah Remini says she wrote a Knowledge Report on Tom Cruise for ‘that’ incident. She said that he was ‘jumping on couches and being inappropriate’. I love that. 👍🏻

Watching Louis Theroux speak is like crack . Everything he says is balanced and well worth hearing. The guy could have a nuanced opinion on tooth brushing technique and I'd listen.

Big respect to Louis for standing his ethical ground to Joe and not disrespecting scientology in the same way he wouldn't to other belief groups.

I tried to read that book •Dianetics as well and I’m very glad to heard somebody else founded weird and not easy to read.

Louie is extremely articulate. He’s never too wordy, never sounds like he’s trying to sound smart, and practically every word he says is used perfectly.

Yes, his early stuff.. "the weird weekend with Louis Theroux" is really ahead of its time. He was "trolling" before it was a thing.

This is the first JRE I have listened to. I have read so many tweets etc disparaging Mr Rogan and after listening here I cannot understand why. He comes across as intelligent and is a great interviewer allowing Louis to speak and also making great points. I have subscribed!

@@kelvinbedford6487 Lol true - I’ve been through a few myself. You can actually buy 3rd party replacement straps for £3.30 from Amazon UK, or genuine Casio only from Amazon US for $12.99. No currency conversion attempted! Either way you have to question if it’s worth it and just get a new watch. Perhaps even consider an ‘upgrade’ to the plastic body stainless steel strapped A158WA, for around £20 / $18. Or the full resin made to look metal but way cooler looking F91WM! About £$18. One thing Casio certainly deliver are tons of options for cheap, good, retro digitals. Wonder how many straps Louis’ been through

Louis is high calibre of investigative journalism. Very clever at drawing reaction or answers from subjects.

This guy comes off as one of the most friendly approachable people ever. I love people like this, you can detect that there isn’t a bad faith bone In his body

1:35:55 True. We notice our own flaws in others..sometimes only on a subconscious level. Therefore, when we state, "..there was just something about that guy I didn't like." , its probably something you need to own. Not always, but enough to be worth some thought. Remember this oldie, "If you point your finger at another, there are 3 pointing back at you."? Good stuff.

Could listen to these 2 all day.

Nat Geo and Discovery wish they could make an Attenborough nature doc. They copy everything he does at a poorer level. Go and watch Planet Earth 2 and come back to me about what the BBC copied from American nature docs. The BBC are the Elite in the field.
