Joe was great. He stopped to talk to me in the HUB about how classes were going--didn't have to, but he took the time. I'll always remember that as one of my fondest memories at Penn State. He really cared about students. Also, you don't need to wear a flag patch or hug a flag to know you are a patriot.

Joe got dissed cause he didnt take some responsibility for what happened to the children. He had to much pride. Showed no emphathy to what happened to the kids. He just couldn't turn off coach Paterno. Unfortunately for Coach P, the sen offender was doing it for 10yrs. And it was brought to his attention and others but nothing was done about it. Thats what angered many people, understsndibly. As great as a Coach he was, he obviously didnt actcon what was brought to him. He wasnt the only 1 who did nithing. It was almist like those who had some responsibility, felt someone else was responsible, not me.

Not true, when it was brought to Paterno's attention by way of GA McQueary he reported this to both his bosses, the Athletic Director, the President of the University, and the Campus Police (which are an actual police force.) Public opinion rushed to judge him and he was fired and it literally killed him.

He was so many things(ALL GOOD AND DECENT) So anyone who has something bad to say? CAN GO F. K themselves..I was a young boy and stated plying knee hi football. My coach, ( God reat his soul) Roy Secoch said to watch this movie called Something for joey( cappelletti) and how football taught us so many different things. I became a PENN STATE FAN that day and NEVER STOPPED ..I WISH TO THANK JOE PATERNO. All this hype and praise and outright deification for a man who knowingly covered up and enabled Jerry for over ten years is an insult to all victims and survivors of child abuse. It’s sickening that his legacy is celebrated. He was a coward, a criminal, and his true character was exposed by his fear of us finding out about the 1998 incident to save his precious football program. We should mourn that truth, pray for him, give to the school, enjoy the sports, and move on from him. Celebrating him until our memory of his part in the scandal fades is despicable, immoral, and painful. We should show the dignity to face it and say We Are. Not jerry, not the other three stooges, and certainly not Joe.
