This group of 5th year seniors are without question the finest recruting class in Nittany Lion History. Lets not forget Mike Zordich and Rogers Alexander who played as true freshman on the 82 National Championship Nittany Lions.

Hamilton, Ontario's Pete Giftopoulos! I remember watching the National championship game in our living room near Toronto with my dad who went to Penn State on a football scholarship. It was rare for Canadians to get scholarships to the big NCAA programs back in the 80s so it was nice to see him. Hamilton is the Pittsburgh of Canada. A blue collar steel town. Thanks for this!!!! Brings back great memories.

I met a couple of real cool chicks at a Blue Jays game once and they invited me to sit and drink with them. Chatted the whole game and they were fun. Turns out they were from Hamilton. That was the first time I'd heard of the town.

In addition to his football prowess, Mike Reid was a prolific musician and songwriter, who had a couple hits as a solo country performer and co-wrote “If I Can’t Make You Love Me” for Bonnie Raitt

I found out about that for the first time back in 1984 when the Penn State highlight show, while recapping the Homecoming game vs Syracuse, had a segment on the school honoring Reid during halftime for his musical accomplishments. The Blue Band serenaded him with "Stranger in My House" which he wrote for Ronnie Milsap.

Thanks for the upload. This will always be THE GAME that defines Penn State football in my mind, and I suspect in the minds of many. Even though I wasn’t alive for this game, I still look back at the history of it with pride. Hopefully we can get back to this level at some point…

Just amazing how some people didn't realize we went undefeated and lost to Oklahoma as the number one team in the nation, and literally went undefeated again!!! My point actually is, that when USC went undefeated twice in 2004 and 2005, the late great Keith Jackson and Musberger had to set the record straight that our Nittany Lions 🦁 did it two years in a row as well, and didn't play but 11 regular season games in them days, but shouldn't be forgotten for what our Nittany Lions did? Lol I thought that was great, because it just shows how much our blue blood history is amazing!!!! They also talked about Joe Pa perfect undefeated seasons, that he was actually denied another national title!!!! WE ARE

Thanks for the upload. It was a great time to be a Penn State Nittany Lion Football Fan. Truth be told I did not enjoy that season until it was over....I might have had a moment or two of joy after the Bama and sPitt games otherwise as a fan I felt like there would be no celebrating except for a NC. The expectations were high from the moment #31 said he would return for his final season after the Orange Bowl Loss. Some of those 86 games made you sweat - Cincinnati, Maryland & Notre Dame, but they pulled them out by knocking the snot out of the other team. This was the true definition of a team. Each week a different player stood up to make the plays that needed to be made to secure victory.....and when the Lions needed it the most their best player, a young men who skipped a sure #1 draft pick in the professional leagues made the biggest play & interception in the biggest game in the long annals of Nittany Lion Football History leading to the go ahead score and a undisputed won on the field National Championship....One cannot come up with a better story for the 100th season of Nittany Lion Football This was in fact validation of Joe Paterno's "The Grand Experiment"

@@ThomasJohnson-qg2vz Yea I will admit out of conference games can be tough. Big Ten rarely wins National Championships, as an independent PSU competed for and won National Championships playing difficult schedules. It easy to be a repeater, a parrot...... it requires no thinking. The Big Ten always will be slanted towards the Big Two, you have to be an idiot, a fool or just plain stupid to not see it. Talk about playing no one, prior to PSU's entry into the big ten UM and OSU never played anyone. The also rans of the Big Ten 20,30,40 tears ago are still the also rans of the big ten today. Prior to PSU's entry into Big Ten teams had not won a national championship in decades and routinely Big Ten teams got clocked in the Rose and other Bowls.....Look at bowl records of Big Ten teams. It is a massive joke. Eastern independents during the Paterno years were just as good as the Big Ten. Remove the Big Two and the conferences was lame. Take Pitt/PSU & UM/OSU out of the equation and there are no teams in the little ten any better than lets say WVU, Maryland, Syracuse, Boston College.

I've always been and will always be a Penn State fan, but I have to admit that when I post these PSU highlights or games that I have such fond memories of, that I am always wary of seeing that man's face. I've even edited him out of some shows. I wish that I could go back and erase his existence entirely.

After my own carefully review of the whole Sandusky matter...something stinks. The media coverage was so over the top you dared not question it least you support child molesters, rapist, abuser's....etc....etc...... This was key to me that it was not as it seems and the minds of the masses were being 'directed' to a predetermined thought. The media coverage was building a narrative and it was cohesive. Nobody in their right mind would challenge the narrative while at the same time accepting the narrative with little to NO evidence. You have a 2nd mile accuser who received a settlement payout despite lying. You have Aaron Fisher victim #1 who just does not past the smell test. Anyone who believes his story is a fool and can be easily deceived. Certainly few if anyone from his hometown believe him one bit and are on record as saying as much. I know that the truth is not the official story that we are told to believe by Strangers that TELL A VISION, so on that account it does not bother me that Jerry is in the videos or is part of the fabric that is Nittany Lion Football. If anything it shows him doing what we ALL know he did do and that was coach football. Compared to the case against him where we know so little and what little we do know does not make sense and causes more question. Truth is we know squat, the media to no degree can be trusted to report on this case. When the story first broke I said lock him up like everyone else. With time and careful review I am willing to say not only does something stink but it is more than possible he is in fact not guilty of these charges.

@@joetolstoy3573 See my other post in this thread. I say keep Jerry in the videos, do not edit (Censor) Jerry out. Erasing history is never a good thing. Fact is Jerry at one time might have been the Greatest Defensive Coordinator in college football history. Much of the Nittany Lions success was tied to Jerry and that you cannot erase no matter how much editing you do. Once you look into Jerry's accusers you will have question. Jerry's Lawyer basically served him up. Physical Evidence....what is that?
