Today I’m taking a viewer ingredient suggestion! I’m making beef tongue!!! I know it’s an intimidating ingredient, but it seriously makes some next level tacos. Tacos De Lengua coming right up!!!!

Great video. My parents raised us on this. You are correct stating this WAS a poor man's meat, but times have changed. Ox tails are great for stew & have also increased in cost over the years. Watching you get after that taco makes me smile! Don't throw out that awesome stock. Strain it & freeze....you'll love using it in recipes that call for beef stock.

Love eating lengua tacos and decided to make one tonight. Since moving to TN 5 months ago from Los Angeles its harder to find good mexican taquerias here. Ive made it with 3 pork tongues before i saw on sale for $4 and it was good. Beef tongue is soo good and tender, way better than asada but you're right on the price.. mine is almost 4lbs and was $27 at walmart... Sales on choice ribeye roast are cheaper per LB right now.. cheap cuts are expensive, chicken wings are more per lb than chicken breast...

Your taco is lacking some green salsa. .. but hey man you did a good job. I just bought an instapot so I'm going to try it this weekend. I used to cook cowtown in a pot for at least 4 hours. But not no more. And yes language is a good tasting piece of me. Me and my kids love it. Anyhow great video!

Pro tip, throw some chorizo in the pan in place of those spices at the end for the next-next level.

You are correct about the price it has become a very spendy cut.Whenever we had the butcher out we would always keep the tongue as whoever bought the beef from us never wanted it. Definitely their loss as my Mom had a real talent for cooking it. It's a very tender cut if prepared properly.Makes great tacos.

Would you boil your brisket, or Ribye for 3 or 4 hours? Come on man. If you don't know, don't say anything at all. The way you cooked it tonight wasn't bad, but still probably a waste.

I'm fine, if you boil the tongue, you boil the delicious flavor out of it. It's like people who boil baby back ribs, then put them on the smoker, boiling most of the flavor out of them.
