Wow, Joe Cocker was a true artist. I saw him at O2 in Prague in 2013, just a year before he died and it was one the of best concerts I've ever been to. Almost 70 at the time, he delivered more than 2 hours of great music pretty much straight. Sir, you will never be forgotten.

Maybe down to experimenting when younger, but my brain was fused to a time before my birth! I love the Woodstock-era music and I'm a massive Deadhead (they WERE there but their sound system didn't work, imagine the film with a proper Dead set!)

My Dad took me to see him when he came to South Africa....not many musicians come to South Africa so it was a very big deal. I will be forever grateful to my Dad for this.

Joe Cocker, fellow Yorkshireman from Sheffield, simply irreplaceable, the world has lost a one-off talent. For all those JC fans out there, try to get hold of the Dortmund concert. I have a DVD, it may be on YT. It is JC at his very best with the best backing band and singers ever (John Miles Keys, guitar vocals, Warren Mcrae bass, Phil Grande guitar, Chris Stainton keys, Dan Hickey drums, the amazing Derek Dyer on sax). RIP Joe.

I agree he made the song better. This version is sublime. But I wouldn't say it's the ONLY song made better than the original. Bob Dylan only plays Jimi Hendrix's version of All Along the Watchtower because it is better than his original. Jeff Buckley's Hallelujah is better than Leonard Cohen's (but only marginally imo). Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" is another one.

There will never be another. I am forever grateful to have witnessed Joe perform live when he opened for Tina Turner. That was one hell of a night between the two.

How on earth to you take a Beatles song, and make it better?…..well, give it to Joe Cocker. You will not get a better cover than this, nor a better live performance…just stunning. A massive ‘shout out’ to the incredible backing singers for their beautiful contribution, as integral to this performance as Joe. Joe Cocker was one of those artists who has everything in buckets. Amazing voice, timing, stage presence, charisma. We miss you Joe, but have these fantastic archives to cherish. Thank you for posting this truly memorable performance. 💚🙏🏻

This song still rocks in 2023 with Joe Cocker giving it all the emotion and deep passion just like back in his prime days. Truly was an amazing magical voice. RIP Joe Cocker 🙏 and thank you for the awesome music 🎶 🎵.
