I'd say she sounds better than most French people. Native French speakers can sound terribly nasal, and there's no space between words or sentences. It's terribly frustrating, because I can speak and read French, just not with natives :/

Her accent is so good you could almost pinpoint it on a map. Though if you listen to her longer interviews in French she'll occasionally make small grammar mistakes that a native speaker wouldn't like messing up the gender of a noun or the conjugation in a very common tense. That's probably due to lack of practice but that's the only thing that gives her away, the accent is, once again, perfect.

Her accent is almost perfect (it still slips in a tiny bit at times, noticeable only because I know English is her mother tongue); but what gives her away is that she still makes gender confusions at times, like here when she said "une problème avec mon genou" instead of "un probème..." But i'm still amazed at her accent - so hard for English speakers to get right- even after all these years. She really got it right.

@@19Edurne people make mistakes in their native language as well, so small mistakes are fine. An example here is she probably meant she was doing 'well' rather than 'good'. Although it could be argued the good she was doing was giving to charity but that is unlikely to have been what she meant. Normally wouldn't jump on this but thought I would as a point of talking perfectly in any language is rare even for the natives.

@@CanthusOfCandE Yeah, even native speakers get the gender of certain words wrong sometimes but definitely not the word _problème_ which is in the top 200 most frequently used words. It was a pretty serious mistake which would give away any non-native, no matter how good their accents. I'm not saying Jodie Foster's French is bad by any means, though, I've watched French interviews of hers and she spoke it flawlessly.

she is actually good friends with mel gibson, and he had helped her in various ways in past, as btw he had done others like for example robert downey jr. they publicly stood by him when mel was prosecuted in hollywood media. that is probably why question about married to him cropped up in google.

@@darylvanhorne3580 Totally! I made my 12-year-old grandson watch it with me, and the questions he was asking were great! I had to pause so many times and we'd go into serious discussions about religion and the meaning of life. So many great messages in that movie about who and what we are!

I’ve been watching her since her first shows and movies! She’s always had such a huge talent since she was a kid.

She being humble, she actually has a High IQ, she'll never tell you though..........

Wow. I knew I had a huge crush on her in the 1970’s but crap. I still do!! What a woman. Incredibly likable.

When the question came up about her accent, all I could think was 'pure West Virginian.'

I miss her acting. She's such a strong, truthful actress. I'd love to see her even play a non-lead.

I love how she just breezed past the IQ question. She has a VERY high IQ. She is definitely one smart cookie and talented actress. And considering she started acting so young and was targeted by a crazed killer while at Yale, demonstrates what a resilient, well grounded person she is! Saw The Incredibles in LA with a friend...two women and some kids sat in front of us and he leans over and goes "You know who that is?" and I said no, and he goes "Jodie Foster." So I sat behind Jodie Foster in the Incredibles. Totally expect this to be included in all her biographies

It wouldn't be in her biographies because that was Holly Hunter who did the voice in the Incredibles. Holly Hunter's voice just sounds like Jodie's Clarice Starling voice. lol.

Being 11 years older than Jodi, I had the privilege of watching her grow up through the movies she did. She is mesmerizing in the roles she does and has managed to have a private lifeon top of that. I gotta love and respect that!

I'm French and it doesn't matter how many times I hear her speak French every time I'm struck by how perfect her French is, literally no accent

Always loved Jodie Foster but ‘Contact’ is one of my all time favourite films - it’s just a fantastically creative story, thanks to Carl Sagan of course, but Jodie was marvellous in it ❤

I don't know if you did it on purpose, if so, kudos, because her french is precisely prefect: almost perfect. (When she said "j'ai un problème avec mon genou", the prononciation of "un" was a little off imo) Anyway, I prefer almost perfect to perfect...

The way she pronounced the gen part of genou was also a little off, in France, we slur the g and the n and don't really include too much of the e, her pronunciation of the ou part also had a little bit of an American accent, but overall her French is spotless

She seems like such a warm and fun person to be around my gosh..

Jodie Foster is one celebrity that I've always liked. She just seems like a really cool down to earth person and a fantastic actress.

Btw: her french accent is FLAWLESS

She has got the most beautiful accent in the world

I absolutely love her demeanor. Something awesome about it.

I like that they use a physical board for the questions. Physical stuff is still so much more meaningful than stuff on a computer screen.

I have the utmost respect for Jodie Foster. She is a brilliant, classy lady, and a fantastic actress! Also admire the fact she is aging gracefully with no plastic surgery. She looks incredible being just natural. Hope she has many films in the future....I will see them all!

She's so down to Earth, love her!

@@NotDuncan No, there was nothing intellectually valid about her opinion at all if you give time to research and critically examine how well supported her notion was . Her opinion was rather ridiculous and even a bit hypocritical (considering the project that she have been in). Doesn't mean she deserve hate for voicing stupid statements , though.

This will certainly be the best video I've seen in a year. Jodie Foster is the greatest actor of my era. And her boy Kit is a cool and very smart dude.

Lovely warm personality and delightfully deprecating response to certain questions.
