That's why we have the tapout. You tap - you live to fight another day. You don't tap - the opponent may not know you're in danger or in pain, even if they're experienced. It's on you to let them know.
@klk19004 жыл бұрын
Im a trauma surgeon and I’ve dealt with only a few. I’ve seen 3 fatal hyoid breaks from it obstructing the airway. But usually 7lbs +/-5. We usually see in strangulations/hangings only. It floats so it’s way harder to break than one would think. It’s a tiny floating bone in simple terms. You have to catch, pin, & break pretty much. It will run away from you usually which is why it’s so rare.

@@tiagomarcon1271 why shouldn't you? It is not a sneaky submission in any way, those are why you need to be careful with newbies with, because they don't recognise the danger until it's too late. A punch choke is VERY obvious and painful, but no more dangerous (unless you're mounted, they sink it in and you pull them closer..)

In high school my automotive teacher and I were good friends and we’re scuffling around the classroom. Long story short I got him in a choke hold, I’m 6ft5in he probably 5ft6-7. So eventually I started squeezing tighter and tighter thinking he was gonna tap, when I felt his body go dead wight, thinking he was fucking with me I dropped him out of the choke, he dropped to his knees and proceeded to slam his head on the concrete floor. He went to the hospital and had a severe concussion! We laugh about it today but that’s my story of knocking out my teacher 🤣 (I got in absolutely no trouble, when he came back to explain he said nothing was with malicious thoughts, and it was just us being stupid. Absolute legend) shout out Mr.Nelson!!!

That's why we have the tapout. You tap - you live to fight another day. You don't tap - the opponent may not know you're in danger or in pain, even if they're experienced. It's on you to let them know.

Ezekiel choke seems to be a popular one for a lot of experienced BJJ guys. I remember my instructors using that on me when I first started out.
Jocko "in my defense" Willink, doesn't take extreme ownership
