@@MirandaWeaver So, due to some party shenanigans we were on the good side of the losing faction of gods and horrendously on the bad side of the winning faction. We had enough favor to somehow request our own godhood, or at least the party did Gusk was just around for the ride and finding new friends. The DM at this point I think had given up on us being a normal party, what with the elf rouge insulting our patron at every step, and our knack for managing to trivialize the most complicated of tasks. For reference, we went from being minor domainless gods of the losing faction to on par with primordial gods within the span of a single battle. Something about stealing the heart of an elder god and using it to upraise ourselves to an even higher plane. Gusk really didn't pay attention. Benifits of being a goblin with less than 10 intelligence, he just kinda went with the flow. This somehow ended up with us fighting said best friend primordial, until through liberal use of a divine grade wish we managed to force a feeblemind on it. Then they became Gusks best friend, while he assumed the role of the god of chaos, no one argued. He was already blessed by the chaotic forces of the universe already, and it's hard to argue with an adorable goblin that has a primordial diety for a best friend. TL;DR Shenanigans and the DM giving up when we began demanding from the gods cause they weren't good enough to solve their own problems. lol

When you are thinking about Goblin's and Kobold's as Enemy Encounters, then both have their unique uses. Goblin's are for when you need incredibly simple shenanigans or random encounters, while Kobolds are good for highly complex Dungeons, as well as for more unique Dragon encounters. When considering them as playable Races, then they are just equally good. If you wanna make an adorable nutcase of a character, these races almost write themselves.

Due to JoCat's Goblins video, the campaign I'm running right now have goblins but they are not enemies. They're more like innocent and cute children. Everyone loves them, NPCs and players alike and me as well. Literally everyone would put their life on the line to protect any goblin they meet. In towns, they basically get treated like the village kids. Innocent little scampers filled with love and joy to hug people with. Like a smarter, less dopey but just as energetic Golden Retrievers. We also have a snowy biome and the towns there gives the goblins little fur coats and scarfs and winter hats. They also have public fireplaces, and it became a sort of hangout spot for people, but everyone have fireplaces in their homes, so what's the purpose? Well the reason the public ones are made are literally just for the goblins so they don't get cold and sick in the biome. As for their appearance, it's basically synonymous with JoCat's goblins.

Not sure if someone else has mentioned it but Kalashtar are from Eberron, the same setting that introduced Shifters, Changelings, and Warforged. The reason that they are not nearly as widely used as the others is that they were designed to be the psychic race (back when the setting was made for 3.5E), and they mostly lived on a different continent in case you wanted to completely ignore psionics in your campaign. A lot of the other unusual races are from the MtG supplements, though some are just obscure DnD races that got stat updates for 5e (e.g. Firbolg).

I'm glad you push people to watch the original videos, because JoCat is a legitimately nice guy and the algorithm loves pushing things that get sudden spikes in viewership back to the recommended tab. He can also play the piano, though he say's he's out of practice now. He also wrote his original Crap Guide to D&D intro and outro music. I would be seriously envious of him if he wasn't such a nice guy.

Artificers have gotten a fourth subclass called the Armorer.....it can basically make you D&D Iron Man. Also one thing JoCat did not point out is that if your DM allows them, Artificer starts with proficiency with Firearms.....and is the only class that does.

The redo of the Barbarian was actually done before Tasha's Cauldron, so there was no Wild Magic Barbarian at the time. And on the subject of Tasha's, they did in fact give us a new Artificer subclass in that book, called the Armorer, which I will summarise here: Armorer, which lets you turn any suit of armour you come across, regardless of Strength, into your very own custom built Iron Man suit. It can be used as a Spellcasting Focus, can't be taken off unless you want it to and can instantly be put on and taken off as an action (which is bloody fantastic since Full Plate usually takes 10 minutes to sort out). Additionally, it gains special features based on what model you use (with extra features at higher level), and the models can be switched around when necessary. For Guardian, you have a temp HP generator and your gauntlets deal Thunder damage. For Infiltrator, you get extra movement, a small Lightning beam from your palm or chest (very huge Iron Man vibes here) and the ability to give yourself Advantage on Stealth rolls (or outright cancelling the Disadvantage of heavier armour). 9th level is...very confusing though, and there's been no clear ruling about it. What 9th level is meant to do is that it treats your armour as 4 separate parts for your Infusions, and lets you infuse an extra two items more than usual (as long as they're parts of your armour). The issue here is how this rule works if your Arcane Armour is already magical (like for example an Adamantine Full Plate).

Giving you a heads up due to a time limit. JoCat just put up a video that is about Bards4bards, and in it, he has it so a place is selling a wizard goblin plushies. I know you've mostly been watching his stuff in the order of release, and multiple a week, but you may want to jump ahead to this one if you want to try and get said plush.

Yes, all the races in the Races video are official races in the various published books. And no, he won't redo the video because Tasha's made all races able to remove their racial template for a modified variant Human template. This video shows perfectly well what each of their racial templates are if you don't replace it with the modified variant Human template.

playing a goblin ranger here. It's so fun to be able to hide and shoot every turn without multiclassing, and as a goblin I can just use the argument of "I'm a goblin" if I want to do something really stupid like put on a necklace I found in a cult temple before any of the "smart and carful" partymembers even got a chance to look at it. Also with a drake sidekick is really fun.

8:40 you are talking about the Armorer, yea it lets you turn armor into a suit that works like Iron Man, and with a short rest you can convert it between either Guardian or Infiltrator. Guardian gives you thunder punches (which you can use INT for) that gives enemies disadvantage when attacking anything but you until your next turn, and you have basically an energy shield that you can activate as a bonus action which gives you temporary HP equal to how many levels in artificer you have. Infiltrator gets a freaking iron man style ranged attack that deals 1d6 lightning damage (and once a turn you can deal an extra 1d6 on a hit), plus 5 extra movement and advantage on stealth (which cancels out any disadvantage from your armor). Its a lotta fun, I am actually playing one in a futuristic dystopian setting with Snakes n Saloons stuff added in, I actually out damage the whole party at the moment (DM ruled that the Repeating Shot infusion will work on firearms so now I got a magic broomstick that does 2d12+6 damage a shot at fuckin level 3, although I have yet to roll well with damage and the DM is talking about having me swap to the weaker shotgun for balance, so I might actually fuckin dual wield magic boomsticks while the rest of the party has guns that they have to reload).
