    I have a question. I thought that the drop arm sign and jobe test indicate a rupture of the m. supraspinatus? Can you explain why this test is for impingement?

  • @kristelsturrus4470
    @kristelsturrus44702 жыл бұрын

    I have a question, why do you perform this test is scaption and is there a difference in sensitivity and specificity if you do it in scaption or not? I also can't find anything about the empty can test in the article which is mentioned.

    Thank u so much can u make a video about scapula plane, I don't get it

  • @Physiotutors

    @Physiotutors

    8 жыл бұрын

    The scapula lies on the rib cage at an angle of about 30-45°. So for the Jobe/Empty can, go into 90° of abduction and 30-45° of horizontal adduction.

    it's not standardized but it won't take long in a symptomatic shoulder. 1 second or 2

    Thanks for the explanation :) I injured myself doing overhead presses. I don't feel pain when the pressure is applied, but I feel pain when the pressure is released.. Any idea? Deltoid injury?

  • @Physiotutors

    @Physiotutors

    Really hard to say with just one test, deltoid injury is not very common though. Best option is always to see your local physio.

    @@Physiotutors my general doctor thinks it is my deltoid. which I find weird because a light overhead press caused it. And external rotation hurts, or do we use our deltoid muscle for external rotation?

    GP's are not specialized in musculoskeletal diagnosis. We'd recommend to see a local physio. If you live in Amsterdam, feel free to see us at The Gym Fysiotherapie.

    Does Jobe's test is better than Whipple's test?

  • @Physiotutors

    Whipple's test aims to test for labrum lesions, its similar to the active compression test of O'Brien.

    Best from one bony extremity to another using a tape measure, it's not of high importance though. We discuss limb length for the legs in our video on the Weber Barstow Maneuver. Exact measurements will only be able with MRI/X-Ray imaging
