There is a lack of career counseling in india. Which are resulting in many students change in perception about a course. Career counseling should be promoted.
@souvikbanerjee472
3 жыл бұрын
Exactly. Also, in India some parents will pay an astrologer 1000-2000 rupees to tell them which career will be suitable for their child by reading their palms and shits like that but won't visit a career counselor who will actually be able to guide the student way better.

An eye opening video for every student out there. I myself did Diploma in CST and currently pursuing BTech CSE and I am weak in coding but I don't exactly hate it though. My base in coding hasn't been strong from the beginning itself though I tried to improve myself a lot. So I felt me being a CS graduate is useless if I am not able to code at all. But I guess this is not just me and many other students are also going through this situation. That's why I am thinking to opt for Business Analyst role after I complete my graduation.

Hello Mam, Is there any Network Analyst position in software side/technical side. If it is there please explain about that position mam
Hi mam, currently I am facing this situation, it is been 1 year since I joined this company but I don't think I can handle this much of pressure, and nowadays I just feel like, I don't want to work anymore, constantly feeling like throwing away the laptop, I am so frustrated because of this job.
@theCorporateDiaries
3 жыл бұрын
Dear Nivedita, that frustration kicks-in for 2 main reasons: 1. When you are in a profile that you don't align with or its not of your interest, its not about capability, we might be capable of doing 1000 things, but if our natural interest is not in that thing, we will feel burdened and frustrated. 2. When the people you are working with are hopeless and crazy, who suck life out you and drain the employees unnecessarily. Find out what is your reason, if you are sure that the profile is not a problem then try finding another company, else evaluate your interests genuinely... talk yourself through it... don't be disheartened, if you have made it to this point, you can for sure help yourself counsel through this tough phase, just try to clarify things in your mind... sit calmly and without any judgements and bias evaluate the situation... you will def. find the root cause, and once you know that it wouldn't be difficult to find solution.... Hope this helps, take care!!

Dear Nivedita, that's really odd and strange, I think your manager is just not interested to let you move to other team, no company, no one at all, expects an experienced kind of performance from a person who change roles.. Its a false impression he is creating on yo9ur mind.. if you are really interested, then I think you should give it a try, if you are scared that your company will expect exp like work from you, please enrol in some QA course(many are available online, that you can do in parallel to your job) P.S: Your manager might be stopping you because in general(in IT industry) QA job is seen little lesser than a Software dev. So shouldn't I take admission in It engineering now after 12th??
Very well explained. Not everyone studies engineering out of interest, and not everyone who studies their subject will have a clear cut idea of how they are supposed to apply their subject in their professional lives I myself studied B. Tech in Computer science as I was very much interested in Software development. I even worked with lot of enthusiasm for 12 years in the software industry as a senior developer. And then I started petering out, slowly losing interest in Software development. I even quit my job without a backup plan. After more than a year of break and thinking multiple choices now I've decided to move toward Linux and cloud. Now I absolutely despise developing business applications
Thank you..

Please be clear what "work" exactly you want to do, by Banking do you mean you wish to be in a > Finance oriented transnational role in a Banking company > a analyst role of fraudulent investigation in a Banking company > a sales or marketing role in a Banking company So decide on the role that you wish to do, later you can choose the industry...

Hi Arkaprabha, thanks for tuning in, year gaps are seen differently by each employer, for freshers as long as you are good at what you are claiming(the skills written in resume), doesnt really matter, tell whatever the truth is, I have personally interviewed candidates who have stated below reasons(top of my mind) and we were okay with them provided they seemed interested enough, the only fear employer have about freshers Gap is, if they hire the candidate shouldn't leave soon, bcoz it takes lots of investment to train a fresher to a desired level : 1. Gap due to preparation of exams(Higher studies, govt jobs, IIT etc) 2. Joined family business but later found dont wish to do that 3. Health problems (self or a family member) 4. Didnt get any job (if you mention this, make sure you point out things that you kept doing in this time eg: any certification, any course, any internships etc..) 5. Got campus placement but the company kept pushing the date and eventually revoked offer 6. Gap due to Marriage(this I have seen specifically incase of females) Dont be stressed about the Gap, be confident about what you can deliver to the business, rest all will fall in place.. All the very best!!

Hi Rushikesh, if you are in a profile which involves coding and you wish to build your future in it, then invest in learning it, if you you dont wish to be in the coding profile, seek guidance inside the company and switch the team, see what all teams are there in your company, if there are people around with whom you speak, ask them what work they do and try to understand the context and if you feel there is any particular team which seems right choice, just show interest and let the manager of that team know that you would be grateful if they can consider you for any upcoming position. Remember, dont pile on them, tell them to consider you for upcoming position, and let them know what skills you have that are relevant to their work... In such cases, mostly the managers take the candidate... Start by exploring within your company, it is the fastest and easiest way to switch profile... Hope this helps...

Dear Karthick, you can do freelancing for designing interiors, you may use tools to just give a plan or the blueprint of the interior designing, for which there is no need to go in field. Try picking something that will combine your Interior field as it has good scope. To start with freelancing you can check websites like "Upwork.com"

Hi Akshay, All profiles in IT sector are not about coding, don't assume that if hired you will be only doing coding, I will suggest you to start looking out or applying for the relevant jobs, basis whatever you have studied in college, before the gap becomes big, preparation can continue in parallel. Try starting with some internship, it will give you fair Idea what task you will actually do there.. During internships only you can choose to apply for a full time position in the same company in a different team(which does the work you like), but all this will only happen once you are in the corporate environment, For your awareness here are few roles which are less technical. 1. Data Analyst (learn Excel & SQL) 2. Quality Analyst (Learn testing) 3. Customer Service Team (Good comm skills Verbal n written + MS office) Hope this helps, if you still have questions, feel free to ask.. All the Best, Take care..

@@theCorporateDiaries thank you ma'm🙏💕. But after 1 year of graduation I forgot lot of things, my confidence level is too low.. So should I directly go for internship or before learn one of the three skills above you mentioned.

@@akshaykewat3686 pick up the subject you loved the most and start brushing up your skills, the best way is search job postings for internships roles and read their job description carefully, make notes of critical skills asked there, likewise read at least 10 job postings for one kind of role, make a detailed list and then work on those skills. In this way your direction will be good and your efforts will not go waste... Because the biggest challenge students face is deciding on what to study, where to start from... In this way your efforts will be super focused and yield good results..

Dear Kalyani, its very common, don't loose yourself in this, you can start by exploring by what amount you wish to eliminate coding fro your desired job role: 1. less than 70% of coding- Try aiming for analyst roles such as "data analyst", "quality analyst" search these jobs on linkedin/naukri, you will find 100s of job descriptions, read them, see if they interest you and decide accordingly 2. Minimal to Zero technical: Aim for roles like "business analyst" etc, same search their JD, see if the work interest you. 3. Absolutely no technical stuff at all: Aim for management kind of profiles eg: "Project Management", "HR", "Recruitment" etc. keep exploring until you find something that interest you and you are willing to put your 200% in that, there is no job which doesn't require hard work and skill, nothing comes easy, its just that you have to decide in which filed you choose to put that hard work. With the generation moving towards digitisation, there are new jobs emerging in market like "Digital Marketing", explore that as well, read there job descriptions at various platforms, see what they are asking and if you got those skills, or you wish to learn those skills... It all about you making an attempt in direction of knowing what you really like..... Hope this helps...

@@theCorporateDiaries Do project management, business analyst like professions hire freshers ? As in most of job description , i have seen for BA, they ask for organisation experience in coding domain or analyst domain. Moreover, they will prefer mba graduate over btech in terms of that role. So, i am literally confused to choose being a fresher.
Hello mam my frnd has done btech mechanical in 2018 den he tried for ias but now he feels dejected can u pls guide wat he can do next???? I mean wat options .. He has gud technical iq..

Qa and automation is best. It needs programming. Bt not that much data structures or algorithm understanding. Although testing is wide. And according to domain it changes. So u need to skill up every time.
