If you feel insulted by this reality maybe you should work on that. It's not a make believe award. It's the most high value award accepted by the industry standards. It might not mean much to you. To be fair, because I’ve heard celebrities talk about this. They do hundreds of interviews a week for several months to promote the movie and they basically get asked the same question over and over again and they have to find a way to make it sound original and like it’s the first time they’ve ever been asked. This is 6 months later and still getting asked the same question everyone was asking

Its crazy how people will take a short clip at full face value. Watch the full video. He was put up on the spot, not really prepared, he responds to this question initially as shown in the clip and then he ANSWERS the question in great detail then thanks the reporter for asking. He reacted initially in a way that I think just about anyone would react upon hearing a question they had answered multiple times before, but he is visibly not frustrated. The reactions to Jaoquin's behaviour on the original video and this short are wildly different.

being an A+ list celebrity actually does seem pretty taxing, to be completely honest. You can’t go ANYWHERE without being followed and hounded by paparazzi. Look up videos on behind the scenes of paparazzis, as well as videos of paparazzis harassing celebrities. They literally stake out their homes so they can follow them around town. Go ahead and say that they signed up for that life, but recognize that they followed their passion, and consider the times that you signed up for a situation that you underestimated the downsides of. there’s a legit reason why so many celebrities say that they’d rather be rich without the fame.

@@Anthony-dk3usWell everyone is different. Joaquin is a known introvert and we can’t expect all actors to be the same. They are still human beings and I think people far too often dehumanize them just because they’re rich. People act like they have such a easy life and earn money for just “talking off a script”. Acting is a tough job especially when you’re an A-lister. You’re not just working on one project but multiple. Mentally that can take a toll on a lot of people having to deal with endless deadlines and a crew of multiple other actors, directors, writers, producers, etc. We shouldn’t expect actors to always be in the best mood just because we have become accustomed to them on film. They have a life and a job that requires them to constantly work. The interviewer should have done more research before asking the question and also should’ve known how Joaquin handles interviews. Not saying that Joaquin gave the best response but I can understand why he acted that way unlike 90% of the people in this comment section who are just like “oh he’s just another rich douchebag”. It’s like, if acting is SO easy and getting his kind of money allows you to be lazy then why isn’t everyone an actor?

If you remember every media outlet was asking the same question and it was always about how he prepared for the role. And after 6 months of telling every media outlet the same thing over and over again with it already being public in interviews on tv like late night shows and early morning news and shit, it gets exhausting. Same thing when everyone at the premier of John Wick 4 kept asking the cast about how they felt about Lance Reddick passing away. And they told them to stop asking after so many times. And that was one night. This was 6 months

Understand that in the press conferences there are around 20-30 journalists. An actor might answer 8-10 questions so not everyone will get the chance. When you get the chance and use the time to ask a stupid question or a question that’s been answered, it’s such a disrespect to the others and the actor. You are literally saying that you don’t care to research the actor and you don’t care about the other journalists time. You are wasting people’s time.

I mean yeah it's gonna be annoying to most human beings, but I'm sure the 8 figure salaries more than make up for the annoying inconvenience of having to answer questions. Reporters ask these questions to write about their movies. A lot of people decide to see a movie or not see a movie based on the reviews written by these people. Enough bad reviews written can really hurt a movie. I'm sure there have been bad reviews based on whether or not the actor was a dick during these interviews. Lol I've had a few beers and may or may not have got into some sativa. So I'm kind of tripping on this. Lol. I better stop before I write an essay on the subject.

For those unaware, you can find the full video, this title is misleading. Joaquin didn’t deliberately shut the reporter down, and he did answer his question, which isn’t shown in this edited clip. He made a valid point though. He answered that question a billion times while promoting the movie yet the reporter asked a very old question.

I feel Joaquin here. This journalists always ask the same shit. Like, there are so many interesting and different questions to ask

I don't think THIS is his whole persona. More like he reached a low point for a single moment. It looks bad and he should apologize, but one can fall in this behaviour sometimes and not be a bad person.

Actors are people too...i dont care if he is bad mannered or what, he aint there to be a saint...at the end of the day, all of us want to take a rest after a hard day of work and dont want to be asked stupid questions. Same goes for actors.

For all of those who think joaquien pheonix was rude to the reporter , he was tired of them trying to make him look bad , its always like that , the reporters are instructed to ask questions so that the actors look bad , they ask the same question in every interview so that they get a few words to make them look bad . Trust me i know this because my friend used to work as a reporter

Nah this was like 7 months after the film and that question the dude asked was literally the only question anyone has ever asked about the movie so he’s answered it over and over. As an interviewer the goal is to ask things that uncover new info and this guy clearly doesn’t understand that by asking the same thing every one else does. joaquin is basically telling him that he can find the answer he is looking for in about two seconds through a simple google search

That is a basic human response when someone asked you the same question thousands of times, the people who are saying this is rude believe it or not are the weird ones. Not being aware actors are human too is a flaw on your part. Because this is no where near rude.

I listened to his interview on Smartless and he was actually very down to earth and humble and admitted to getting frustrated answering the same questions 1000 times but that he's more respectful to the job the interviewers have to do, and how crazy lucky he is to have the success he's got. He seemed like a decent guy, we all have our off days.
