She is the reason why we need to keep blues alive, when you just listen to that guitar you realise what adventure can be explored and what songs can be uncovered. Joanna Connor absolute legend, she cannot be competed by any other blues player with that slide 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Yeah me too. Of all the people he talked about on that video, she stood out to me. I love this kind of music anyway. She's really incredibly talented. There's another musician I like who does kind of similar music. Maybe you've heard of him, maybe not but just on case he's called Seasick Steve. I think he's great anyway. He's known for playing either homemade guitars or really crumby guitars.

I was a radio DJ in the early/mid 80s. I had a blues show, and a good library to pick from. Joanna Connor was there. She was not this good back then. Not even close. But GOD DAMN she has grown into the music, and it's so good to hear this. One of the best on the planet.

Same here but the early Nineties, I had my own Blues show on the local college station and was amazed at the local talent in Chicago. Then I got stuff from the west and west coast. Wow. Mark Hummel, Little Ed, William Clarke, Little Charley. A lot of great Musicians who never get air time .

People do get better if they don't rest on their laurels. Elvin Bishop is a perfect example. He has to sit down half his set anymore, but he plays phenomenally better than he did at 25, and clearly enjoys it. Comes off simple and folksy but he's a Rhodes Scholar like Bill Clinton...

Imgur led me here, and Joanna's going on my "To See Live" wall. And the bassist solo was just icing on that cupcake.

I don't even consider myself a blues fan but she is so fun to watch! I have seen this video dozens of time and I don't get tired of it. There is something about watching someone do something that they just love to do that is exciting; at least sometimes (bowling being an exception ;-).

Actual chills. I'm trying to find words but I am literally speechless from her playing

The main riff for the verse is so unbelievably badass. It's like a Billy Gibbons sort of riff you just have the urge to chicken neck too.
