FROM THE KID IN THAT VIDEO: HEY ALL!!! I am Jeff, the fan in the video. A friend of mine just recently linked this video to me and I am in utter-shock and disbelief over the amount of amazingly kind and generous comments on this video as well as the fact that it has reached 1.5 million views. A true dream of mine came true that night and I never in a million years thought it would garner any attention yet alone this much. It truly warms my heart and makes me feel better about the sometimes non-reassuring career path, music, that I have chosen! A few things to address: 1. I can confidently tell anyone that has any disbelief, that this was by no means planned at all! I have seen Gary perform many other times. On one occasion I was 13 and he handed me a guitar pic from the stage. Another time in 2016 I met him after a show at The Stone Pony and gave him my hat. He remembered me from that encounter, hence the comment “I don’t still have the hat,” but he had no assured knowledge I can play the guitar. He was being the truly generous person he is and took a chance on me, a chance I will forever be grateful for! 2. Thank you for all the comments, positive or negative, I take them all to heart and hope that each and every comment will only help me further my musicianship!! Although, a few of the comments about my “moving” on stage were a bit harsh, I understand where everyone is coming from and respect your point of view. I, however, was not intending to steal any spotlight or show off. I was nervous and playing with my idol in front of thousands of people. I was simply feeling the music in the same way everyone from Jerry Lee Lewis to Angus Young to Chuck Berry have been known to do. Regardless I still take all criticism to heart and hope to learn from what everyone has to say! mark dicker the kid is actually pretty bad at guitar... he kept playing the same three licks. Maybe he was feeling the music and maybe he wasn’t. All i can say is that it is damn near impossible to feel the music as you play if you only know 1 scale and three licks

People giving a thumbs down don't know talent. Holy hell that kid can play! And Gary Clark Jr just allowed him a chance he'll remember the rest of his life! Love Gary don't think he's heard enough on the radio!

I'm a metal guitar player but nothing feels better than playing blues progressions. The feeling from it is unmatched by any other genre.

You could tell this kid was truly a fan. Added his own flair but stuck true to the song and definitely added something to this performance.

Man, that’s excellent! Awesome that GCJr brought the kid up but he looked so happy that the kid fell right in! Jeff was amazing, he owned that stage. His fills were great and his solo was great! Hats off to the both of you.

Some people are born with a star, and some others are a STAR since they are born! And this is not about Mr. Clark because we already know he's a one of a kind. This is about a kid doing the unexpected and blow our minds with his performance! I'm in awe!!

He sure is my brother! He 💣 out of any single category. Let's just say, he is the most amazing, passionate, inspirational musician today. Don't call him the "NEW HENDRIX" cuz he's much more than that i promise u!

His enthusiasm is so sweet…to have a Grammy performer actually allow a fan up on stage shows there is no ego…refreshing….kid can play

It’s great to see established people in music give a lucky guy a chance to show his talent.

Gary gave this young kid a gift of a lifetime, and he loved seeing the heart & soul of this performance. THE KID IS ALL HEART!!!

I had never heard of Mr. Clark until he was the musical guest on SNL. I was totally blown away. I grew up with the likes of King, Hendrix, Vaughan, & Clapton. To know that there is another guitarist who has picked up the torch & is delivering stellar licks & great vocals brings a smile to my face. Yes!

Chills... absolute chills down my legs watching this. Young man was feeling that music and just going with it. My old ass would of been swooping and dipping if I was standing instead of laying in this bed watching this...lol Love the blues, love the whole vibe, just look at what the blues does to a young'n, when the body just naturally is in the flow of good juju.

This is perhaps the coolest thing I`ve ever seen an artist do.
