Welcome! These musical clips are from a large video collection that is now being converted from VHS/Beta to digital. There is some viewing quality loss from the original video source due to the age of the tapes, but the performances are preserved and still a joy to view. I'm finding many lost performances from vintage R&B, Soul, Pop, Broadway, Cabaret and other performances. This channel will be the Ed Sullivan channel for the digital generation, something for everyone to enjoy. Many of the performances will be seen for the first time since they were originally televised. I will be adding many musical performances from a variety of sources that I hope you will enjoy. Can't believe he's only 29 in this clip, he already had a play on broadway, was an established actor, and was openly gay in the early 70's. That's amazing, my 30 year old gay ass has a hard time being out in 2022, what an incredible person.

May we discuss more about your "Gay ass", please! LOL 😁😜🏳‍🌈❤🧡💛💚💙💜🏳‍🌈 The other day we were walking down the street and some guy walked up to us and asked me if I was Gay. I said, "Gay dear? Who dear? Me Dear? No Dear!" But I highly suspect MY HUSBAND! LOL Honestly, I'm so happy to have been born FAB-U-LOUS-LY Gay. I've been out for decades because when I got tired of people's stupidity, I said, ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! 'This is MY life! Go fix YOUR OWN LIFE before you try to 'fix' mine!" It was amazing how things changed when MY attitude changed. My advice is, DON'T LET ANYONE TELL *YOU* WHO YOU ARE OR HOW TO LIVE *YOUR* LIFE!

Harvey has this je ne sais quoi that puts even the most ignorant people at ease. He stood in the giant spotlight in a time when the AIDS epidemic was not only wiping out the gay community, but it also gave a lot of people a reason to fear and blame anything gay as well. He brandished wit and humor like a magic wand and it helped bridge the gap like never before. I can only hope that his name continues to resonate for years to come as the historic figure he was and is.

Aside from the timbre of the voices (night and day), everything about the way they speak is so similar. They're both from Brooklyn, but it's not just that. A straight man from Brooklyn with no connections to the entertainment industry would not sound like either of them. The accent, maybe. But not the tonality and word choice. They really sound like cousins who grew up next door to each other. It melts my California heart.

I saw this amazing play in London, but with Anthony Sher in the lead and was so blown away by it that I went back three times in one week to see it again and again - and I didn't live in London at the time. On meeting Sher at the stage door, he told me the film was coming out and he would not be playing the lead. I was disappointed but he said to me: "GO TO SEE IT. You will love Harvey Fierstein" and I did and boy was he right! WHAT a talent.

I am gonna use this place to go off on something I saw on KZread tonight that I can't comment on because they turned off the comments. Arsenio Hall was asked back in the 80s why he didn't have Harvey on his show. He said "When he does something I'm interested in I will have him on my show. This is MY SHOW" Really???? I have always liked Arsenio. Arsenio, Harvey is amazing. Guess you needed more culture in your life. And you should be interested if your audience is. They made you who you are.

You sure nailed it, PS PS! As someone who was out there marching and demonstrating for OUR RIGHTS, to now see the younger Gay people now, is a bit heart breaking. They are enjoying the fruits of our work... ummm.... no pun intended.... and not appreciating what lead to our freedoms. But, perhaps a new round of FIGHTING FOR OUR RIGHTS is about to take off again with the repuGliKKKunts and their CORRUPT S.C.O.T.U.S. trying to take our rights away. NEWS FLASH.... we are NOT going to allow that to happen or continue... NOT AGAIN! 🏳‍🌈❤🧡💛💚💙💜🏳‍🌈
