Joan Rivers Interviews Sylvester Stallone Part 1 Staying Alive

Let Peace Begin With Me • "Let There Be Peace on...
pass this inspirational performance on, we need this now more than ever!!
Welcome! These musical clips are from a large video collection that is now being converted from VHS/Beta to digital. There is some viewing quality loss from the original video source due to the age of the tapes, but the performances are preserved and still a joy to view. I'm finding many lost performances from vintage R&B, Soul, Pop, Broadway, Cabaret and other performances. This channel will be the Ed Sullivan channel for the digital generation, something for everyone to enjoy. Many of the performances will be seen for the first time since they were originally televised. I will be adding many musical performances from a variety of sources that I hope you will enjoy. Please hit the like button if you can.

Sly talkes about this period in his life as one where his ego got out of control and you can really see it. Just posing, every facial expression the doe eyed, sensitive male model look. Now he's really centered again but he truly has been tbrough the ENTIRE range of the Hollywood experience from unknown to this ego stage to Sly again.

Yeh, sly is really chill now and has been for a while. Definitely been through all the stages of fame. Back on top again now but much more relaxed these days.

*Staying Alive* was not a failure for Stallone in his directorial debut as the film made over $40 million in profit and finished top 10 at the box office.

Some of Travolta's best material was in the 80's. Sure *Staying Alive* underperformed by it's predecessor's standards because it started a movement in 1977 just as Travolta's *Urban Cowboy* did in 1980. But finishing top 10 at the box office is still an accomplishment and I think Sly did a hell of a job.

@@quentindugger5389 "Blow Out" was Travolta's best film in the 80s. In my opinion, his best film ever.

*Blow Out* featured some of Travolta's best acting undoubtedly. It's such a rare film to find that to this day I don't own it.

Wasnt his first time directing. Sly's first was Paradise Alley, then the great underrated Rocky 2....and I always liked Staying Alive. Except for that corny ending with Travolta strutting down times square. Even he knew it was BS in the last shot..he giggles

@@quentindugger5389 "Blow Out" is available in a pristine, digitally restored and remastered edition on Criterion DVD & Blu-Ray. It includes a recent interview with Brian De Palma. And you are correct about "Staying Alive"; commercially, it was not a failure.
