@@helolo4354 yeah i am done with these old heads. Need a competitive, hard working, intelligent guy who is obsessed with the game and can implement a modern offensive system. Spo, Mazula, Kerr were all inexperienced when they took the helm. Need new ideas not the same old retreads. One thing i am sure of is JJ would be working his ass off, thinking late into the night on how to improve the offensive and defensive schemes, obsessively studying the film. He just needs a couple of experienced voices in his staff to handle tricky locker room situations where he can lean on their experience. Ham was clueless and incompetent, JJ's competitive and obsessive nature wouldnt allow him to just stand around with hands in pockets. It wouldn't surprise me if reports came in that JJ went on a 2 week mountain cabin retreat before training camp to learn Hurley's Uconn offensive schemes and bball philosophy, studying film all day and night, lakers need that kind of personality and mindset. I am rooting for JJ.

I liked listening to his podcast, if you look back at his podcast career, as soon as one of his takes receives backlash, he'll come back on the next show to apologize & retract his statements. He doesn't have the backbone to stand down on what he said, so imagine him being that way once a player or multiple players opposes his Coaching, he's just going to be a "Yes" man then. What you just described is someone being open to being wrong, re-evaluating their logic, and coming to the conclusion they may have overlooked info. That's called being a mature adult. Refusing to acknowledge ever being wrong and illogically standing your ground is the mentality of small children. People like this never improve because they already think everything they do is right. If something isn't working, having a coach that thinks they're never wrong is that worst possible scenario.

Jason Kidd didn’t have a successful career coaching before he went to LA as an assistant which is WHY he went to be an assistant. Neither did Nash. Neither Did Fisher. How many high IQ players do we have to see not do well in THIS ERA to see it’s not just X&O’s to be a good coach.…there’s a reason people tend to start off as assistant coaches.
