In Jiri's fighting style you can really see the influence of Miyamoto Musashi, the samurai he modeled his life after! Look at when Jiri's got a guy hurt and is trying to finish him, and think about this quote: "The sure way to win is thus, to chase the enemy around in a confusing manner, causing him to leap aside." He'll throw a barrage of strikes from different angles than normal combinations, combined with feints and also like Musashi said, when the enemy is hurt or tired you don't give them even a seconds break to recover!

100% jiri also likes to use the stance where he biltzes forward with both legs and switches the stance after every step - Something of that manner wrote Musashi also

@@fanboy7718 yes that too, Musashi didn't like alot of the types of footwork people used, like leaps and other types of steps. He advised moving more similar to how you naturally move and having the length of your step be similar to your natural gait

5 things that can make the difference 1) Weightclass. At MW, Pereira was a towering weight bully, fighting Blachowicz he was suddenly far less dominant and threatening. In Glory he also wasnt all that convincing in LHW. Jiri on the other hand is used to fighting far heavier guys (even at openweight) who cut down to LHW while he doesnt. 2) Creativity. Pereira is a fairly by-the-book dutch style K1 kickboxer. I think it is more troublesome for him to face someone as unorthodox and strange as Jiri than the other way round. Jiri spars with Glory guys in his gym. Does any other gym have a Prochazka? Even Izzy is very meat-and-potatoes kind of striker compared to Jiri and mostly relies on kicks and his jab. 3) Chin. Pereira was just flatlined and floored by a middleweight who isnt exactly famous for heavy hands. He got KOd stiff this April. Jiri on the other hand hasnt been even knocked down for almost a decade and had a long time to recover and heal his chin recently. 4) Cardio. Jiri often sets insane pace and boils his opponents alive. Pereira on the other hand often looks tired in round 3 already, isnt used to wrestling and gained some weight for the new category. 5) Lowkicks. This is famously a hole in Jiris game. He has a wide, bladed Japanese stance and doesnt block lowkicks too well, Pereira is a lowkick expert. On the other hand, many people tried this route and aften times got KOd by Jiri while trying to get close or getting too confident after landing a couple of them. This is what happened to Pereira this April afterall.

When Alex fought blachowicz to say he was less threatening isn’t really the case if you actually watched that fight you’d know Jan was literally just a wet blanket for majority of the fight and was on his way out in the second round. And also to say jiri would be more of a problem isn’t necessarily true because if you watch all of jiris fights he’s been rocked in damn near all of them, he was rocked by glover just got bailed out by glovers takedown attempt in the final round instead of continuing to plow his face the way he was. Lastly, you said Alex gained weight for LHW yet even when he was fighting at 185 he would get up to 210-215 by the day of the fight and was fighting at LHW at 228. If jiri keeps his hands as low as he does it could end up very bad unless he decides to do what Blachowicz tried to do; just shoot for the takedown early while he’s still fresh

@@heroe1486 Thats great, but what does it have to do with anything? We are talking about Pereira here, not Adesanya, perhaps because he is not fighting? Both are abnormally tall for the division. Pereira cuts huge weight, Adesanya does not. Neither does Prochazka, who is very light for LHW, lighter than Pereira even who competed at MW.

I think the main factors in this fight will be in the natures of Jiri and Alex. Jiri likes to jump in the fire, while Alex is a little more stoney and patient. If Jiri can make Alex jump into the fire, I think he'll win. But if Alex can maintain his composure and set up that knockout punch at his pace, he's got it in the bag.

yep pereira’s main moments of adversity are opponents with strong chins and bait him into boxing in the pocket. we’ve seen him wobbled in those moments and it could be even riskier if his own chin has degraded since the izzy ko. however jiri tends to spend a fair amount of time at range setting things up. if he get complacent there he’ll get chewed up for sure. very excited for this fight :)

He took all of Jan’s shots no problem from “Polish power”, “the 2nd best striker in LHW” Blachowicz who hits like a truck and power is the last thing to go so the whole he’s declined argument is useless. Alex been knocked cold (not tko) one time in his career by the supposed best striker in MW history with a perfect shot he did not see coming, after getting excited and going for the kill once again. He’s been hit with 2 huge shots, both from Assbender in his whole UFC career and made a rookie (9 ufc fights) mistake against a guy with 25 fights in the UFC after beating him twice by ko/tko. The people who love to run with this narrative are those same Izzy fanboys who couldn’t get over their champ getting beat multiple times by another fighter, as well as being chased down and embarrassed in another sport. Rest are casuals who saw both ufc Izzy fights and like to act like they know something 😂

In the Japanese organization where he fought, I think one round was longer than 12 minutes. In my opinion, it was one of the most difficult supers in his career, that of Texeira.. Alex Pereira does not have the qualities of his coach and neither does he have the experience. Jiri stares at him with his cardio. I hope that the match will be at least 4 rounds.

*Both fights are kill or be killed. Stylistically Pereira is favoured.* Jiri open to that left hook all day. High risk high reward style. He needs to attack Pereira’s legs and the second Pereira starts playing the leg kick game Jiri needs to explode with a 1-2. Every time Pereira kicks he needs to step in land the long 2 and duck under the left hook. Maybe shoot some takedown attempts just to mix it up and make pereira think.
