They have manual differential lock, thar has automatic differential locking. Manual diff locks are way better

Definitely, it’s technique that is important. Here in dubai I personally drive a pajero 2020 4 door LWB. The tyre PSI should be 15 or lower depending on sand quality. Plus you need to have the right driving technique.

@@techgearss it’s not about engine power. It’s about vehicle weight, tyres and most importantly manual diff locks. Gurkha has less power than Thar but it will never stuck in desert due to manual diff locks, thar can get stuck due to automated mech diff locks

@@nullman2881 Yes Sir you are right … Gypsy was based on second generation Jimny but Both are linked and in India Gypsy came earlier so mistakenly I wrote Jimny evolved from Gypsy. For Us Gypsy remains the off road king which is now replaced by Jimny.

I own a new thar 4*4 and a old version gypsy. Gypsy is lighter which is the only advantage of gypsy and that is why it perform better. However, if you change the tyres of the thar and really know how to drive it, it will cut any obstacle be it mud, slush, sand like a hot knife. The power is sufficient. But if you are on a tight budget you can go for jimmy.

Thar needs 18.inch rims and not.these 20 inches. Also for thar in deep sand recommended pressure is 12 to 14 psi for stock tyres. Otherwise yhe car will definitely sink.

Ek cheez toh pata chal gaya ki gadi toh Jimny aur Thar dono hi mast hain. But yea 20inchs wale ka dimag sayad 2inchs se jyada nahi hain. Jaha pe fortuner jaise long wheel base heavy weight aramse chalti hain, defender, new thar old thar Hilux Wrangler Willys Gurkha chalti hain, Jimny bhaag rahi hain waha pe kaise fasa diya? Itna dumb banda sand pe aisa kadh raha hain toh black ice, rock crawling pe toh haag dega. Aur lagwao 20 22 inchs ka alloys

I like thar but this 3 door is very impractical so i was waiting for 5 door but after all the offroad challenge it's not worth the price and hype. 3 door is more expensive than 5 door Jimny and much more heavier than Jimny which is big drawback for offroading. Now imagine the price of 5 door and how heavier it will be😳😳

Tyres the only issue here with Thar…Otherwise Thar is best on deserts and even named on desert 🏝️🐪

Patrol, Landcruiser, FJ cruiser are kings of sand dunes. Those are very much heavier and bulkier than Thar. Watch their videos.

Jimny 100x better than cheap knock-off Thar! Chapri Thar fans over hyped Thar to the sky, but you can clearly see Thar has zero off-road capabilities. I bet , old maruti 800 would do better than this cheap copy of Jeep.
