I just graduated college @ 99 and I remember me, dad and uncle awake @ 3am just to watch this magnificent matchup. Now i have 3 kids still revisiting this. Definitely the best lineup. This world pool 99 is like the dream team!

One of the greatest matches in pool. Jimmy's 5-9 combination was phenomenal. Efren reye's bankshot on the 2 and thin cut on 3 was was like a magician doing surgery procedure. This is clash of the legends. Sad that one of them has to lose.🇵🇭🇵🇭🇵🇭

@@elibo0n What, the "fluke" that Steve Davis called in advance during the commentary? And not only does Jimmy walk to the end of the table to pick out the line of the cue ball from off the cushion, but no sooner does he hit it then he is turning his head to see if he gets the full ball contact on the orange five ball that he needs.

Just amazing that our very own Efren Reyes got to run shoulders with Davis and White - I love snooker and pool and this was just amazing to watch

That 5-9 is why we all love jimmy. What a shot, he has the nerve, the vision, the balls, AND the skill to pull that off. I still remember watching the snooker world championships at my granmas house when I was about 5 and saying I like him without even knowing why she said ‘everyone does’. Jimmy is truly the peoples champ. Go on the whirlwind 🌪

Watched this match live on cable tv with my brother at 2 am...it was amazing. Feel so lucky to be able to have known this GOAT for a long time now

JImmy was good and lucky but Efren is hands down the GOAT!

If this title run doesn't prove Efren is the greatest pool player of all time, I don't know what does. The 5-9 plant by Jimmy White is on my top ten list of most spectacular pool shots in history too. What a match!

I often wondered why he always says, "I GOT LUCKY". I thought it was because he has difficulty with English. However, he says the same thing in his native tongue. I guess, that's how geniuses are. Even if he tried explaining it, we will have difficulty understanding it.

So much hyped on that Jimmy 5 to 9 combination lol, but that final rack 2 bank shot of efren didnt get that scream lol 😂

Wow ..did anyone notice on the deciding game when Jimmy broke the rack 3 balls went down the pockets and they happened to be 1 4 and 7(147) for all snooker fans the max break in a frame...wow , Was that coincidence ?

What everyone fails to realize is that Jimmy white was a part time pool player and for all the legend that effren was he should never have been hill Hill with Jimmy. Had Jimmy won the final frame as I think he should have effren should have hung his head in shame. Jimmy played with a snooker cue as well.

Efren is greatest EVER ..... and Jimmy's shot of nine is AMAZING

It is but there was just an element of luck on that shot. You should watch Efren Reyes shots on hid other matches more often, as he intentionally even points out the direction of his shots.

@@PestiLencE638 Play snooker & then try nine ball pool. Efren wouldn’t last at Snooker & These Snooker players only had a few goes, their money was in snooker comps. Jimmy White & Alex Higgins were drunk on one occasion & beat two American pool legends in the Mosconi cup. I love pool but a child’s game compared to Snooker.

Watching more than ten times,, one of the best matches of the Game...

After watching countless hours of pool I'd say 19:30 is up there for the best shot of all time. This was: - a bank - a kick - a combo - a frame winner - an escape - in a tournament - against Efren Reyes at his prime If Jimmy won the match then I would say without a doubt the best shot of all time. Since he lost it, I'll place this shot in first place tied up with Efren's Z shot.

No way its comparable to the Z shot. Z shot was done with a thin slice on the 5 to the corner pocket , and Jimmy was a straight one. Jimmy’s shot was top shot but inho its not even close to that shot.

Jimmy is one of my favourite snooker players of all time but I love his fanboy attitude with snooker and that indomitable spirit and he's a class act. That pool shot is one of the best and I think someone tried to re-create it and did it kinda but took over 50 times. I don't know whether Jimmy played it, as I would love to believe he did, so what do others think? I don't think he just smashed and hoped as it just didn't appear that way. Thanks a lot for the footage. :)

I think it was a fluke. He did line it up though and I guess he hoped for the best by get it with speed. Nevertheless it was a great shot and it came at the exact right time. In the end it didn’t matter.

The 2 Magicians, the 2 players that have inspired me the most. Jimmy has never been world snooker champion but he is still the most entertaining player, same as Efren to watch. Nice to see how Jimmy was on a completely different level in pool than Steve Davis or Ronnie O Sullivan. Still the snooker player who gave the GOAT his hardest time I think

05:35 Mind how Jimmy was setting the combo for the left corner pocket and magically he potted it at the right corner, that was a super fluke that became a super shot for free.

Davis deserves all the accolades afforded to him. Reyes is worthy of his sobriquet ' Magician. ' What is remarkable, that is above and beyond his skillful technique and composure under fire, is the admiration of his peers in pool. Commentators routinely acknowledge his excellence, too.

That 5-9 shot gave me goosebumps, absolutely incredible..

Nice matched...

I wish that all pool shows are like this to where they show the viewers the ball sequence to which it helps the viewer get a better sense of the ball positioning layout on the table. In this way the viewers does not have to try to spend the time figuring out or second guessing the sequencing arrangement of the balls.

Back here again. It's not as much the match as it is listening to Sid. It's like when i revisor old F1 races, i don't care much about the result, but listening to Murray Walker is brill😊 It's so important to have good commentators when watching sport IMO
